Star-Wars Wedding

I always knew the Star-Wars universe was pretty popular and that there are those that build their entire lives around it, but this is the first time I’ve seen a Star-Wars themed wedding.

You wouldn’t catch me dead at a Star-Wars convention, but from what I see in the photos this Star-Wars wedding turned out pretty cool.

Largest bottle-cap collection in the world

For some reason people love to collect bottle-caps, some even use them to make bottle-cap paintings, but I’ve never seen such a large collection before.

The bottle-caps in the photos weigh over 850 kg. and as you can see take up an entire room. However the main advantage of a treasure of these proportions is that, well, nobody tries to steal it. The “lucky owner of this 380,000 bottle-cap collection must be one heavyweight beer-drinker huh?

World’s ugliest airplanes

I can’t say I’m a fan of flying, to be honest I’m terrified of airplanes but if I simply have to get on an airplane, I’d prefer it to be a decent-looking one. And that definitely excludes anyone of these odd-looking flying machines. Sure some of them are designed this way to facilitate merchandise transport, but this does not make them any prettier.

Now this is a real eco-toilet

You probably thought eco-toilets are those plastic boxes set in public spaces where you just go in and handle your business, huh? Well, no, you were wrong and these photos prove it. As you can see, apart from the toilet bowl, everything is natural. And before you say “this is just stupid” you might like to know people build bars in trees too and place restaurants on them. Incredible things trees, wouldn’t you say?

Girl parks her car in swimming pool

Well that’s not the first I’d consider to park my red Mazda Miata ,but who are we to judge right?

Young Kim Taylor thought she had pulled the emergency brake after she parked her Mazda Miata convertible, but the car must have been thirsty, because it started to roll downhill and only stopped at the bottom of the neighbors swimming pool. The accident took place on June 30th and a team of specialists was needed to pull the car out of the pool, we couldn’t find out if it still runs, after its bath.

Segway Special Forces

Run for your lives criminals, the Segway-riding Chinese Special Forces are here!

As the price of gas surges every day, people are trying to come up with alternatives and for the Chinese military, one of them is the Segway. During an exercise that took place in Jinan, China, the giro-engine-powered vehicles were used to fight of criminals. I was surprised when I saw the photos, I even thought it was silly, but then I did some research and found out that policemen in several US cities use Segways instead of police cars and they are pretty happy with them. It makes sense if you think about it, Segways are a lot smaller, they fit through tight spaces and they reach speeds of up to 12 miles per hour.

So i for one won’t be surprised if I start seeing Segway-riding policemen on the streets of my city in a few years.

How to shave without a razor

Are razors this expensive these days, that some people have to resort to this kind of practices to remove their facial hair? It’s terrible, if waxing your face wasn’t enough, now young teenagers must burn their faces to get the smooth, clean face they desire so much. Please, if somebody knows this dude, buy him a razor…I’m buying.

In a hole lot of trouble

This man was stuck for two hours in a small hole in the pavement in the city of Swansea.

Would you go down a hole in the sidewalk to retrieve a lighter you dropped in? I know I wouldn’t, screw it, I’d buy a knew one. Well not this brave man, he must have loved his lighter because he went feet-first into the whole just to get it back. Before he even realized it he was in the whole down to his armpits and couldn’t move.

That’s when the show began, passers-by started to laugh at the unfortunate young man, some even tried to help him out but they almost pulled his arms out of their sockets and his body didn’t move an inch. The man was a little tipsy and you can see from the photos he wasn’t very upset with the whole situation. Witnesses say he spent some time at a pub before his daring act (that explains a lot) but no one can figure out how he got into that hole, it was only 40 cm in diameter.

After two hours of being laughed at by passers-by and shoppers, this dare-devil was saved by the firemen of the Swansea city center.

Destruction Therapy

Is wacking away violently at used cars and broken home appliances a therapy against stress? Well it is in Spain.

Three Spanish entrepreneurs came up with the idea back in 2003 and it has evolved into a profitable business. Basically people pay to smash cars, washing machines, refrigerators, television-sets with jackhammers, thus relieving stress. It’s called Destruction Therapy or Destructotherapy and the latest session took place this Saturday in Castejon, northern Spain. Participants got to pick from different tools and use their rage to pulverize different objects.

One more interesting fact about this Destruction Therapy is that 40% of the participants are women. It’s not certain that Destruction Therapy (Destructotherapy) really has a therapeutic effect, but it’s definitely fun.

The photos are taken at the event that tok place this year in Castijon and the video was shot back in 2005.

The man with the goldfish earrings

You may stumble across this merry old man if you walk around Tokyo, especially in the Harajuku district.

Ojisan used to be a postman but he always wanted to be an actor and be in the center of attention. As an opportunity to become a professional entertainer never emerged, he decided to claim the spotlight after he retired. These days he walks around dressed as you can see in the photos, wearing goldfish in plastic bottles as earrings and oversized funny hats and tourists just can’t help but take photos of Ojisan, as memorabilia.

Oldest woman fisherman you’ve ever seen

This lady can hold her own against any experienced male fisherman though.

And she’s got the photographs to prove it, not some bogus fishing tales that guys like to use to show off to fellow fishermen. This old lady is Janet Larsen and she is addicted to fishing, as you can see. All these photos have been taken over the years in Alaska, where Janet loves to go fishing. Not bad for her age is it, I for one can’t brag about my fishing skills, so for me she’s a pro.

World’s ugliest dog competition 2008

One of the wackiest competitions on Earth and also one of the funniest.

This year’s World’s Ugliest Dog competition was held at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma. Twelve dogs battled for the title of world’s ugliest dog, and in the end only Gus came out on top. Winers are selected from two classes, the Pedigree class and the Mutt class. Gus won the Pedigrees class and went on to beat Reggie who had won the Mutt class. After winning the competition Gus had to meet the Ring of Champions which included winners from the previous year.

Gus is a Chinese Crested, suffering from skin cancer, he only has three legs (one was amputated due to the skin tumor) and one eye (he lost the other in a battle with a tomcat) and no hair. He was adopted by a Jeanenne Teed and her daughter Janey after they had heard he was being kept in a crate in somebody’s garage.

For winning the World’s Ugliest Dog Contest, Gus got $1,600 ,which the owners say will go to his radiation treatment.

Bridezilla – the ultimate contest?

Yeah, this convinced me to stay a bachelor for life.

We TV hosted the Bridezilla contest to celebrate the fifth season of their Bridezillas television show, on June 3rd, in Time Square, New York. The brides participating in the contest had to race to the top of a multi-layered artificial cake where they had to participate in a cake-eating contest, for the grand prize of $25,000. The winner managed to eat 9 mini-cakes in just 2 minutes and said she’ll use the money for an extravagant wedding.

The Baby Jumping Festival of Castillo

Would you let someone jump over your infant like this?

Known as El Colacho in Spain, the Baby-Jumping Festival is a popular event that takes place in Castillo de Murcia near Burgos, every year since 1620. It’s basically all about infants laying on a blanket and adults dressed as devils jumping over them i a procession that’s supposed to cleanse the little ones of all evil doings. Doesn’t sound like it works, but hey who am I to contradict tradition? I just wonder if in history any of the devils tripped and fell over the poor babies…

I for one wouldn’t have my kid jumped over by a grown-up like this, even if they’d allow me to keep my hand over him as protection. If that guy falls my hand isn’t going to break his fall, the baby might though…
