Chinese Lamborghini Is 99% Identical to the Original, Costs Just $65,000

A brand new Lamborghini Murcielago LP64 would cost you over $400,000, but in China you can buy one that looks almost identical for only $65,000.

The Chinese love to build their own Lamborghini sport cars, probably because the original ones sold in China tend to break down a lot. The latest Lamborghini replica to come out of the rising Asian country is of the stunning Murcielago LP64, and is probably the best one yet. Refered to as the Shanzai Lamborghini, this impressive looking vehicle is said to be 99% identical to the original on the outside, while the interior is “only” 70% identical. Still, the price tag of 420,000 yuan ($65,000) is unbeatable for this kind of car. Only you’re not really buying a piece of Italian engineering, but a really well modified Toyota MR2.

The level of craftsmanship has really impressed car enthusiasts in China, ever since photos of the Shanzai Lamborghini made their appearance online. The car maker apparently has his own workshop and even posted a classified advertisement for his Lamborghini making service. The reservation period for a Chinese Lamborghini Murcielago LP64 replica is 5 months, and requires an initial deposit of 210,000 yuan. Pretty harsh conditions for a car that can never be registered and driven on official roads. But you can use it to brag to your friends. The translated ad and specifications for the Shanzai Lamborghini are listed below.

“2.2 liter Toyota 5s and 2.0 t 3S engine, 100 kilo-meters in 9 seconds, top speed 2000, 175 horse powers, sound decibel frequency can be more than 90% identical. Body is 1:1 ratio. Interior is Lamborghini style, dash board is not Lamborghini.

Cannot get license plate, reservation period is 5 month, order deposit is 50% of the total cost, 210,000 yuan.

Power window, power wings, GPS navigation, backup camera, real leather seats and leather interior.

Interior can be done upon customers’ request, it is impossible to be 100% (identical as the real)

Interior and exterior color can be determined by customer.

Engine cover is not transparent, rims are custom made, original rims cost 50,000 extra

Car’s front bumper is 2007 style

Original car key cost 9,000 extra

We did not make modification on the original beam, so car safety index is same as the original Toyota.

However we added stainless steel, steel pipe and steel plate in the driver and passenger side doors.

We also added 4 point racing seat belts.

This car cannot get license plate, but satisfies all driving capabilities. However our factor sells the car only for display.

Car symbol, glass, grille, tail lights and exterior accessions are all original factory parts. New style of LED tail lights cost 10,000 extra.

Steering wheel is racing car steering wheel with original Lamborghini symbol.

All buttons in interior are all original Lamborghini parts.”

    So when’re they getting sued?

  • EDW Posted on July 13, 2012

Hey Brian…. you must either be ignorant of statistics or have your fingers stuffed in your ears…. for many years the 10 top cars in quality have be manufactured by Japanese owned companies but were built in the US by guess who…. US Union Trades. To state Japanese “junk” certainly does not apply to most of the Japanese corporation’s products. Presently #1 is Toyota/Lexus, #2 is Subaru (Fuji Light Industries but all US made) and #3 is Honda. The only origin7 ally American cars that pop up in the top 10 are produced by Ford but have a low% of domestic manufactured and assembled content… on average their cars are 80+% Mexican and Canadian. The average American corporation’s cars have a LOWER domestic content than the Japanese brands assembled in the US! How is that for using facts in a discussion instead of bias & assumption?

I agree with the above statement that Japanese cars much more reliable than General Motors. I recently rentd a 2012 Chevy Malibu and it killed my soul every time I was inside..plastic parts, low HP, low torque, 24mpg hwy. I compared that to (South Korean)Sonata or (Japanese) Camry I get more torque, way better interior and 35-40 mpg hway.
I honestly cannot understand why anyone would buy a GM vehicle–A vehicle produced by the high-on the job, 2 hr nap taking, over paid United Auto Workers. I will never buy a GM product.EVER.
And their deceiving marketing scheme is pathetic; to play on American’s emotion “Chevy Runs Deep” is begging and coercing people into buying their POS vehicles.

there are LOTS of lamborghini replica kitcars out there, for cheaper, that actually have a good performance engine in them , like a V8. How silly to drive your “lamborghini” from 0 to 60 mph in 9 seconds :-D if you’re going to copy something, then do it good ;-)

I thought that only guys with small penises drive Lambos, so why would an ASIAN guy want one?

Do they have imitation warheads for sale? Just asking!
