Yellow Treehouse Restaurant is an environmental project by the Pacific Environment Architects ltd. (PEL) and, as you can see from the photos” it’s a beauty. They’ve managed to build a chrysalis-like restaurant 10 meters above ground, around a 40-meters-tall redwood.
The Yellow Treehouse is a marketing project of Yellow Pages, a company that is trying to get more exposure. And that’s perfectly ok, there’s nothing wrong with a little publicity, but for a company that uses that much paper to use environment as a marketing scheme…
You can book a table at the Yellow Treehouse Restaurant if you’re ever in New Zealandand, I’m sure it will be different that any other eating experience you’ve ever had. Here is the official site
At least that’s what I thought when I saw the sexy abs and the boobs in the armour. Imagine my surprise when I scrolled down to the last photo.
The world is getting weirder and weirder each year. After hail fell in Africa a few months ago, now it snowed in Las Vegas for the first time ever. We’re talking about the Nevada Desert here, snow isn’t supposed to fall in the desert. But, as you can see from the photos the impossible just became possible. I wonder what’s next, the ice cap will start to melt? Oh…wait…
Juliana Airport, in the Antilles, has one of the shortest airstrips in the world and, in order to land, planes have to descend down to 10-20 meters above the heads of relaxing tourists on Maho beach. The landing strip is just over 2,000 meters-long, barely enough for large jets to complete their landings.
At the moment the only company flying weekly to Juliana Airport is Corsairfly. Iknow it looks pretty scary and dangerous but so far no incidents have been reported. Maybe just some bleeding ears every once in a while from the sound of the engines.
A floating Christmas Tree has been set up in Rio de Janeiro every Christmas for the last 12 years. This year the Brazilian city held the record for the highest floating Christmas Tree, over 85 meters long and 530 tons heavy. It was built on a metal structure, filled with bright lights and fireworks and set to float on Lake Lagoa. On Christmas people could witness an impressive display of fireworks from the tree.
The artists that gather every year, in the Chinese city of Harbin, to create icy masterpieces, have really outdone themselves in 2008. For the 25th edition of the Harbin Ice and Snow Sculpting Festival, over 2,000 ice sculputures were revealed to the audience, spread-out over a surface of over 400 square meters.
Over 140 thousand cubic meters of ice and over 100 cubic meters of snow were used to create the freezing works of art. Check ou the pics from Harbin Festival 2008:
Everyone loves relaxing at the spa, even monkeys. The Japanese Macaques of Jigokudani hotsprings in Nagano have become famous for their visits here every winter. they love bathing in the hot water of the volcanic spa. Although they can whithstand temperatures of up-to -15 degrees Celsius thet are most known for the ridiculous amount of time they spend at the spa.
If you’re one of those parents who want to show their offsprings what the real world is like, from an early age, than here are some great Christmas toys for them. Deadly car accidents, riots, train wrecks, man-slaughter, theft and more are all available for your children. Not the kind of present I’d buy my kids, but maybe there are people out there who are interested.
We all know how boring office life can be. And don’t give me that “not my life, I work my ass-off every day”, I watch The Office, ok? Anyway boredom brings out the creativity in people, especially when they’re at work, and they come-up with the most ingenious things. Check out this cool but “lethal” weapon for example:
As you probably know alcohol doesn’t normally freeze, but as it turns out not even strong drinks like vodka, brandy and whisky can’t whitstand extreme cold. So if you want to enjoy a nice cold, alcoholic ice-cream, take a boutle of booze at -55 degrees Celsius and wait…preferably inside.
Have you ever tried pouring salt water into your nose? No, not for fun, but to cure a runny nose or treat sinusitis. Most people have never heard about Netti Pot, but this is an ancient and simple Ayurvedic remedy used especially by Yoga practitioners.
The Netti Pot method basically consists of pouring slightly salted water into one of your nostrils and allowing it to clean the sinuses until it comes out your other nostril. It might seem a little awcward at first, but after a while you’ll get used to it.
Check out the video at the bottom to see how Netti Pot works.
I’ve seen people (drunks) pass-out in public places before, on benches, in parks, on the sidewalks, but never on the street, where they could get run-over by passing cars. I don’t know if this girl is drunk or sick, but the fact that no one even bothers to roll her over to the sidewalk is just disgusting. Oh yeah, the guy on the bike stops and covers her up with an umbrella…wtf is that about, he couldn’t check if she was ok but he cared that she was getting wet? And she was on the damn street, she was gonna get wet anyway
This must happen very often in China, otherwise I can’t explain why they just ignore the poor girl like that.
When I first saw this original toilet I said to myself “this might just be the closest I ever get to shitting money”. The coins and dollar bill are very realistic and make for a nice touch in decorating the bathroom. If you like it, just look for the Payday toilet-seat on the major online shopping sites, it’s 60 bucks.
Now here’s something you don’t see very often in a cemetery, a naked woman. And she’s sculpted on top of somebody’s grave too. Nice piece of artwork and the perfect company for the afterlife if you ask me. When I go, that’s exactly the grave stone I want.
