People who are up here calling people idiots and “sheeple” need to stop being so ignorant and find out facts first…research people….not just googling…go read a dang book sometime…go to the library…READ PEOPLE READ!

What bothers me about “youngest mothers” isn’t them – they’re just kids, and things happen to kids that are way beyond their ability to control or even influence. What bothers me is the fathers. The story above makes sense because from the photos it is obvious that this girl could pass for 15, so I have sympathy for her boyfriend/husband as well. It isn’t unusual anywhere in the world for 15 year old girls to be sexually active.

But the younger ones! There are cultures which impose motherhood on girls at the earliest possible moment. Girls giving birth in Africa at the age of 11 are neither rare nor unusual. Many of them end up with fistulas that interfere with their ability to function, cause family and village to reject them, and effectively destroy their lives. Their “husbands,” after getting rid of them because of the damage the pregnancy did to them, go on to “marry” other little girls and sometimes have exactly the same thing happen again.

The fact that this is socially acceptable in their culture makes me nauseous.

Kordeza Zhelyazkova is very fortunate that her body was in fact as developed as most 15 year olds. The fact that her boyfriend is facing the possibility of jail is sad and may even seem unfair – but I’d rather live in a world where a young man who makes a mistake is held accountable than one where grown men and women think it’s ok to destroy children – for any reason whatsoever.

Dont display your ignorance please. We are talking about medical phenomenon here, not everyday cases.
