If you’re a fan of Discovery Channel, you know about Bear Grylls’ crazy adventures from “Man vs. Wild”, and particularly about the famous camel carcass he used to protect himself in the Sahara Desert.

In an original advertising move to promote the new season of “Man vs. Wild”, Discovery Channel placed a replica of the camel carcass in Sydney’s Wynyard Park and put it up for rent, on a popular website.

Passers-by had the chance to crawl inside the carcass, dubbed Camelot,  to see how Bear felt during his survival test in Sahara, and also fill in a form telling Discovery why they would be the best tenant for this unusual property, for the chance to win a holiday voucher worth $2,500.

Looks like a real nice late 19th century painting, doesn’t it? But in reality, it’s a real girl wearing body-paint, and standing against a painted background.

‘Makeup Girl‘ is a very clever advertisement spotted, and photographed by Peter Kun Frary,  in front of a MAC cosmetics shop, in Hawaii. The girl is a really well painted model, posing against a painted background. Now, you might think she’s naked, but she is wearing strips of cloth in all the right places.

I must say the artist did a banged-up job on this one, and credit goes to the real-life ‘Makeup Girl‘ who kept a still pose and hardly ever blinked.

No, it’s not the Cold War all over again, it’s just the Russian way of celebrating Slava Polunin’s Snow Show.

Every year, after a heavy snowfall, Moscow becomes the home of around 100 snowmen, part of an advertising installation. This time, the army of snowmen showed up in central Moscow, but every year is pops-up in a different part of the city, in order to keep everyone guessing.

The snowmen are part of an advertising campaign to promote an annual performance by famous Russian clowns. As you can imagine, locals love snowmen and lose no opportunity to have their pictures with them.

In order to warn drivers of the dangers of reckless driving, a British insurance company wrapped the most accident-prone street in Britain in 1,500 square meters of bubble wrap.

According to Confused.com, a popular insurance comparison site, the residents of Somerville Road, Worchester, are responsible for the highest number of accident claims in the entire united Kingdom. For the last 10 years, around 10 claims per years have been registered on “Accident Avenue”.

The original idea of wrapping the whole street in protective bubble wrap belongs to the people at Confused.com, who thought to themselves: “we bubble wrap all our little breakables to keep them safe and sound – so why not a whole street?”. It took eight people 12 hours to completely bubble wrap the entire Somerville Road, from houses to cars and even garden gnomes.

This was a very inspired stunt, considering bubble wrap is celebrating its 50th anniversary this week.

The things people will do for money…

To advertise their new Chinese food products, KFC has hired seven young people to dress-up as shrimps and live together in a small glass house. That’s not so difficult if you’re doing it for just a day, but these guys have been sharing a small space since October 22.

I don’t see a toilet anywhere in the glass house, so I suppose they are allowed to go to the bathroom outside the confined space. Still finding stuff to do in there for around to weeks, with passers-by checking you out like animals at the zoo can’t be easy.

You can buy a bottle a bottle of Malaria-infested water, as well as well as many other potentially fatal diseases at vending machines across Manhattan, New York.

UNICEF has devised a very original way of raising awareness to the water problem millions of people across the globe are facing every day. The Dirty Water campaign gives people the chance to buy a bottle of disease-infected water, other people are forced to drink on a daily basis. The water-bottles are kept in vending machines across Manhattan and can be purchased for $1 each.

Of course, the water isn’t really poisoned, but it does look very dirty. The campaign has been very successful so far, exceeding all expectations. Passers-by are encouraged to make a donation through the vending machines, by SMS or online.

Here’s what is written on the Dirty Water vending machines:

“Thirsty? So are millions of people around the world with no access to clean drinking water. 4,200 children die of water-related diseases everyday. Help provide safe drinking water to developing countries. Donate today. You wouldn’t drink dirty water. No one should. Donate now by texting TAP to 864233 (UNICEF) or visit tapproject.org.
Just a dollar provides a child with 40 days of clean drinking water.”
