So it’s your twenty-fifth birthday and you fell like celebrating. But wait! There’s no birthday cake and it’s too late to get one…What to do, what to do? Oh I know, how about sticking a bunch of needles in your arm,fitting candles into them and lighting them up? Sure, there’s no icing, but a human birthday cake is better than no cake, right?

I don’t know if this is what the girl thought to herself before going ahead with this madness, but I couldn’t come up with a more reasonable explanation. Other than she was probably high or drunk…But that can’t be…I mean, does she look like she’s into that stuff? Nooooo…

Our boy Matthew probably ran out of spots to tattoo so he decided to cross the line and tattoo his face. Apparently he couldn’t afford a pair of real glasses, so he tattooed one instead. Ok, you’re right, that was mean of me, but I’m thinking a real pair would have been cheaper and more practical. Not to mention these will look like crap when he’s a wrinkly old man. Maybe he’s trying to compete with Zombie Boy…

In 1997, Elaine had 280 piercings, quite a few for any other body-modder, but just the beginning for her. In 2000 she was acknowledged as the world’s most pierced woman, by the Guinness Book of Records, with 462 piercings, of which 192 on her face. But she kept adding to her collection, and in May 2008 she had 5,920 piercings. As of February 2009 Elaine is the proud bearer of 6,005 pieces of metal.

Most of Elaine Davidson’s piercings are in her genitalia, over 500, located both on the outside and on the inside. The total weight of her “jewelry” adds up to three kilograms. Doctors claim this type of extreme modding involves serious risks, such as infection and transmission of diseases like hepatitis or AIDS.

Despite her bizarre appearence, Elaine wants the public to know she doesn’t do drugs, drink alcohol or smoke cigarretes. Her only vice is Coca-Cola.

Her adventure in the bizarre world of body modding began when La Negra was only 14 years old. She simply walked into a tattoo-shop, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and had a very common design needled on her right shoulder. Now, at 30, the Latin modding enthusiast is still experimenting and trying to push the envelope even further.

La Negra says having an idyllic childhood, in the Argentinian countryside and two encouraging parents are what pushed her to explore the limits of body enhancing. At 16 she took a break from modding to focus on school and dedicate herself to a steady relationship, but “when the simple, happy life wasn’t working anymore” she rediscovered her passion. She tried face piercing, branding and things just went on from there.

The horns she had implanted beneath the skin are her trademark, but La Negra plans to have them removed, so she can finally wear a hat or a wig, but plans on experimenting with other types of body modding, because the transmutation never ends.

David Avner, a native American, part Huron, part Lakota has spent more than $200.000 on plastic surgery to make himself look as a tiger, his totem animal. He even had all of his teeth removed and replaced them with feline-like ones, he has tattooed his face with stripes, he modified his upper lip and inserted stainless steel implants to insert whiskers in, he had his ears surgically pointed and inserted silicone in different areas of his face.

Catman has become quite famous after appearing on several TV shows, including Ripley’s Believe it or Not and Larry King Live.
