What started out as a steampunk dreadnought/battleship evolved into a self-sustainable crawler town that roams the wastes in search of valuable resources.

It sounds like the rough plot of a post-apocalyptic flick, but it’s actually the result of Dave DeGobbi’s rich imagination. He pictured his LEGO Crawler Town as a mobile settlement roaming the barren wastelands, in a steampunk universe devastated by excessive coal use.

The Crawler Town is the best of several moving cities, a place where people can enjoy luxuries like pizza and beer. Thanks to its powerful crawlers, the town constantly searches for invaluable minerals and aquifers, and stay away from powerful sandstorms.

Dave DeGobbi’s Crawler Town got the name ‘Eco-punk’, due to its steampunk influences, and features functional powered treads, working suspension, front and rear steering, and lift from lower to upper levels.

If you ask me, it looks more like lave gushing out of the Earth, but if the artist says it’s fire, I’m sure not going to argue.

Cole Blaq proved his LEGO mastery by creating what many thought impossible, flames out of LEGO bricks. Using light gradient in the center and red on the edges of his creation, and an overhead lamp for the glow, Cole managed to get the desired fiery effect, without any light sources inside the LEGO sculpture.

What’s even more awesome is that if you look carefully you can see the artist’s name (COLE) engulfed by flames. Pretty cool.

The first time I laid eyes on Maciej Drwiega’s LEGO trucks, I thought they were life-size, that’s how real they look. Of course the photo angle helped a lot, too.

Maciej Drwiega (let’s see you pronounce that) is a big LEGO fan who likes to build replicas of trucks, using the popular bricks. His 1:13 scale creations look as good as the real vehicles and even have detailed interiors and detachable hoods that reveal the engine. How cool is that? I wonder how long it takes the Polish LEGO master to build one of these babies.

Ah, seeing this Terran Battlecruiser takes me back to my Zerg-killing days. A true Starcraft fan built this awesome LEGO replica and was kind enough to post some photos. Thanks Jerac!

Steef de Prouw, a LEGO master and apparently, big fan of the Star Wars universe, built an impressive LEGO model of the EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate.

Judging by the level of detail, I think it’s safe to say Steef spend weeks if not months working on this baby, but it was definitely worth it. Though he spent days in a row thinking about how he was going to add more pieces to his LEGO masterpiece, without having it tip over or falling apart, he managed to create one of the most impressive Star-Wars replicas ever.

The LEGO Star-Wars Rebel Frigate measures 4 feet 6 inches and features a docked Millennium Falcon and 3 X-Wing fighters.

Brixels is an Austrian company that specializes in creating portraits using LEGO bricks. Just send them a photo and they’ll send you back the perfect Christmas gift.

The amazing LEGO mosaics you see below were created with thousands of  1×1 bricks in four different colors (black, white, dark gray and light gray). Although the guys at Brixels have made LEGO portraits of celebrities like Barack Obama, Marylin Monroe or Bruce Lee, it doesn’t mean you can’t have your face recreated with LEGO.

In fact, the company presents its clients with two options. Other send them the photo and receive a LEGO kit that you can put together yourself, or have them piece it together. Sure the last option is more expensive, but considering these things are made of up to 4,600 pieces, you migt one to consider it.

Brixels (cool name, don’t you think?) was founded by Stefan Sacherer, a 29-year-old graphic designer from Salzburg. A big LEGO fan, Stefan built his first mosaic as a present for his girlfriend. The positive reactions of their friends inspired him to open Brixels, in order to allow people to create their own LEGO portraits.

Damn good idea, if I do say so myself!

I never imagined LEGO and Steampunk actually worked together, but Radiant Kestrel’s yacht proves they make a deadly combination.

As you might have already figured out by checking some of my previous posts, I love LEGO and steampunk, so I just had to post some photos of Kestrel’s amazing LEGO-Steampunk yacht, for y’all to see.

So you think you’re the world’s biggest Super Mario fan, eh? Well, I don’t care how many Mario games you’ve played, or how many Super Mario items you have used to decorate your room, you can’t be as big a fan as Dirk VH.

The man proved his love for the world’s most popular video-game character by building his biggest replica out of LEGO bricks. Using 40,000 LEGO pieces he created a 5-foot, 9-inches LEGO statue that weighs 50 kg. And the most amazing thing about his masterpiece is that it looks absolutely amazing.

The “Game Mania” pedestal took 25 hours to make and the actual Mario statue, was finished in 160 hours. The whole process took Dirk VH 16 hours to complete. Now that’s a real Super Mario fan!

Nathan Sawaya, a 36-year-old former lawyer has stunned the world with his incredible LEGO artworks.

If giving up a successful career in law that paid a six figure salary, to follow a childhood dream doesn’t spell passion, then I don’t know what does. That’s exactly what Nathan Sawaya did, but he managed to build himself another career brick by brick and now he sells his LEGO masterpieces for thousands of dollars.

Right now, Nathan has an inventory of 1.5 million LEGO bricks to use on his sculptures, at his New York studio and says his largest artwork was made up of about half-a-million bricks. His LEGO works are now as valuable as they are beautiful, selling for more than $10,000 each.

After posting his early work on the internet, Nathan Sawaya started getting orders for his art and realized the huge potential of his work. Now he has even created a piece for Donald Trump. he believes there is nothing he can’t create out of LEGO.
