Interesting and very unlikely to have much truth in it. One all-beef meal a day? Crazy. My wife and I used to be very unhealthy, eating almost all meat, tons of beef, chicken and fish and also eggs. Our blood pressure was sky high even as 30 somethings, we had high body fat, my wife diabetes and the beginnings of heart disease. We watched Foks Over Knives, made a change to an all plant-based diet also with tofu and tempeh, and everything changed. Blood pressure down. Her diabetes completely DISAPPEARED. Our body fat, even with a high carb, all plant based diet slowly came down to a healthy level even with little exercise, and our cardiovascular health just naturally improved. The proof is in the pudding, as they say, and I would most definitely take good ole Carl Pritikan's advise, who died as a slim trim healthy man, rather than old fat Dr. Atkins who dropped dead of a heart attack at well over 200 lbs.

Stuff like this is so dangerous. A lady at my job made a switch to a high protein, mostly meat diet and dropped dead of a heart attack a little over a year later. We watched her skin become pasty, sweating from a flight of stairs, then dropped dead on Monroe street right by The Art Institute. Recent research - reliable research - shows that for men, eating a high protein diet has the same effect on the heart as smoking. Seriously, for whatever reason - saving the animals, heart health, religious reasons - eating plant based is the ideal for great health. Eating high amounts of meat and protein will make you suffer later in life. We have all seen old people live long while eating meat, but they are the exception. For every one of them, there are THOUSANDS living in misery in nursing homes, consumed with osteoperosis, athlersclerosis, and dementia. I'll listen to Dr. Esselstyn, Dr. Campbell, Dr. Novak, Dr. Barnard, and the like, all super athletic, intellectual men who don't take thousands from the egg, dairy and meat industry to write bogus articles promoting ridiculous diets like the Paleo diet - promoted by fat and sick Dr. Cordain.

Seriously, educate yourselves. I have seen first hand the damage done from high protein meat diets. This article is a joke. Look in Asia. Look at the Shaolin monks. Look at others who eat balanced plant based diets. Look at them when they get OLD. As they say, the proof is in the pudding.

As for the commenter saying vegan diets are inadequate compared to plant based diets - that is a flat out lie. And a foolish one at that. Eating a high fat, high protein diet is proven to damage the arteries in the heart. Meat is also highly acidic. Our bodies have everything in common with only herbivores and literally NO similarities with carnivores or even omnivores. The science is there. Peace to you people. Make good choices. Eating like this fake article says to will only bring you misery and heart disease.

Omg, please, Starpaws, you should better inform yourself:

"It is the position of the American Dietetic Association that appropriately planned vegetarian diets, including total vegetarian or vegan diets, are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases. Well-planned vegetarian diets are appropriate for individuals during all stages of the life cycle, including pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, and adolescence, and for athletes."

I don't want to read this bullshit about vegan diets anymore. I'm not only living healthier, I am also making a moral choice by trying not to harm/kill anyone. This is what I find the most odd thing about this. I always ask myself why some people don't seem to be empathic.

Do you believe everything you read on the Internet? Wouldn't this story be significant enough for mainstream media to pick it up? There is a big difference between zero carb and a 100% fatty meat diet consumed before going to sleep. I am skeptical!

yeah I'd just like to add that people do find feeding a child a strict vegan diet an ODDITY. As this kind of thinking and Diet is NEW to mankind. if you think otherwise I'm sorry but you either live under a rock OR you're dumb as fuck.

As commenter Karen noted; no one seems to think feeding themselves or their children a vegan diet - proven lacking in too many essential nutrients to list - yet an all meat diet is considered odd. The Masai of Africa eat nothing but mean, milk and blood and are stunningly healthy and disease free. We all need to start using common sense, feeding ourselves what we evolved to eat (sorry vegetarians!) and quit making emotion the so-called fact findings of the food religions of the Western world. Read! Paleo Solution, Why we get Fat…, Grain Brain, Wheat Belly and so on. We can raise our animals sustainably and ethically which would heal a lot of damage to the environment as well.

Some people feed their children a vegan diet. No animal proteins or fats whatsoever. Nobody finds that an oddity. And how's that SAD (Standard American Diet) working out for America? Diabetes and cancer much? Check the statistics. Should I even mention obesity? Does anyone find those an oddity? Hardly. But what's truly an oddity is that by simplifying their diet to include only those things that bring true health, this family is labeled as odd. It's a sad world we live in.

I saw another story about this way of eating and was looking for a way to lose weight. What I found was that on the 6th day, several health problems virtually disappeared. I've been eating this way for 3 months now and my health has improved so much it's still hard for me to believe. No, I don't eat a rib eye once a day, but I do limit my meals to meat only (mostly beef, often rib eye) and usually eat twice a day. People are flocking to this way of eating by the thousands. It's simplistic, it works, it provides optimum health (even from cancer as evidenced by a recovered so-called terminal brain cancer patient). If eating this way makes me an oddity, I'll wear the name proudly!
If this seems like some strange new fad diet, do a search for "Owlsley Stanley, zero carb." He lived this way for 50 years until his untimely death in an auto accident.
