I really wonder why people are surprised by this? Here is some interesting facts many apparently do not know, including the author here.

Gymnasium is in Greek, a place to exercise naked. Gymnos is a Greek word for the naked body. They exercise and use communal baths all naked. Rome was doing the same and so were many of the surrounding communities.

Gymnophobia, which most of Americans seem to have, is a fear of the naked body.

So next time you want to go to the gym or gymnasium, remember, it was originally a place to exercise naked!

And don't forget the Olympics folks. It too was created by the likes of Greeks and Rome and they were all performed mostly naked. That is why the Apostle Paul wrote about taking off the weight that slows us down spiritually. Hebrews 12:1"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us," He was implying the local tradition of running naked.

So don't be surprised. Besides, it's cleaner and healthier anyway. No smelly, sweaty clothes. Anyone interested in saving water and resources? Check out the article "Ecologically Sound" at http://bacn.bravehost.com/naturism_ecological.html
