Instead of using a rubber bullet or even sharp ammo, this way more effective because it can disband the group of protesters to small group.

Beside that it can help the local by providing a job to produce the slingshot itself.

There is no way to hold a powerful slingshot without extending the pointer finger and thumb as braces. Only the last three fingers are wrapped around the slingshot handle. There is no way that the policemen can use a slingshot effectively as seen in the photograph.

Some commercial slingshots have metal projections that can brace the weapon against the hooters forearm.

Additionally, the slingshot is best held in a tilt approaching 90 degrees from perpendicular. It is not held vertically.

Also, BBs are used like a shotgun blast, and a marble would be deadly when propelled from a good slingshot. Perhaps grapes would be a better choice for a non-lethal projectile.
