This is the way closer to our instincts.
It gives us valid happiness.
Instincts are our ancestors'successful experiences.

New technology gives us invalid (harmful) happiness and eventually our self-extinction.

I wouldn't call that odd, but a definite life-changing experience for their kids. In reality, if they did that long term, it wouldn't be difficult on the kids' education until junior high or high school. There's no need for kids to be constantly entertained by a box. Get out, do something real for once.
