It does detract from their beauty, but also impairs their ability to breathe. Perhaps it has something to do with intentionally altering their voices as well.
Looking at the photos in your article, the beauty of these women is evident. As a whole, these are some of the most beautiful older women I’ve seen, envisioning them without the plugs, of course, and from the perspective of the American idea of beauty.
