I think Century Eggs are delicious too. They’re really good!
And Balut is a really popular street food in the Philippines too!
Although I don’t eat the actual baby chicken, just the yellow and the soup. It’s really good.
But I think I’ll pass on the Virgin eggs. It’s not really tempting knowing your food has been soaked in urin. :T

Don’t yuck my yum, please. I have eaten two of the above mentioned “disgusting” egg dishes and I have thoroughly enjoyed them and think they are delicious. Be more open minded and try some for yourself before deciding if it is disgusting. Appearances can be deceiving.

Ancient chinese very smart. Virgin urine is sterile if the child is not sick. Free of germs and sexually transmitted diseases. It was used to mix traditional chinese medicines. Before modern science of hygiene. The west only learned of sterile conditions after Louis Pasteur. Chinese knew for hundreds if not thousands of years.

This writer is too squeamish. Most of these dishes are quite delicious. I draw the line at urine. Animal or human waste is not meant to be consumed.

century eggs are so damn tasty, I ate them all the time with several taiwanese dishes. though I never tried the other two but my mom ate balut when she went to Phillipines and she said it’s actually really good. I don’t want to eat the ones with urines, though.

Balut is pretty good, I don’t eat the chicken part of it, but the yellow part of it, but I I choose to eat the chicken part, I have to close my eyes. Tasty Filipino cuisine!

Century egg is tasty.
It’s just normal dish to me.

But the rest of the egg dishes, I won’t even touch it.

I am an American and I have eaten a balute. There are different stages of the egg’s ferterlization when it is cooked. The later stage does not look gross and is just a small bird. No different than calf stake really, and yes it is quite good too. I lived in the Phillippines for three years and that is where I got the balute.
