Perhaps I am biased, but artist to artist, personally for my money Grayson is one of the wisest, adaptable and talented artists of our generation. Part of an elite group of global leaders emerging post recession, he is more than his stereotype and his work is beginning to prove this. However, he is still undoubtedly most widely recognized as the ‘Zombie Artist’.

In 2008 the Houston Press, a local entertainment and news weekly publication with 645K monthly subscriptions and 2m unique web visitors a month commissioned Grayson for a front page portrait of then Senator Barack Obama and Arizona Senator John McCain during the presidential debates leading up to the election. After the zombie portrait, made infamous with the candidates eating, rather than traditionally kissing, the babies. From there Grayson’s work went viral and he began doing a long series of custom zombie portraits in Houston, TX.
