cynissity: Thank you! I was afraid there would be some derisive comment at the bottom of this article, so I was happy to see your comment.

I think anyone should have the right to wear whatever clothing they want without being taunted for it. As a woman, personally, I hate wearing heels and they certainly don’t give me “confidence” as the author of this article seems to think. However, if someone wants to to wear heels, I’d tell them, “go for it”.

I don’t find men wearing heels especially odd or something to make a big deal about, since androgyny is becoming popular in fashion again, much like it did in the late 70s/early 80s. I found the phrase ‘the stronger sex’ and the references to how much power a pair of shoes can have over a woman strange, and a little abrasive. I love shoes, and especially my stilettos, but the author took division of the sexes via fashion a little bit far. And also, French fashion under King Louis XIV saw higher heels for men than women. Heels for men is simply re-trending.
