The problem with law schools is of course that there is an entire industry supporting the BS that "a law degree is worth the cost". Thus that is exactly what you end up hearing from bloggers, career counselors (who work for educational institutions and are thus paid to promote the degrees), and journalists that are simply regurgitating the "message" they have been fed by the industry.

In the end the message will be to claim that there is something wrong with the graduates themselves (to follow the idiotic American mentality of "if there is a will there is a way" to its logical conclusion).

However as this article briefly brings out, Justice Melvin L. Schweitzer of the New York Supreme Court, wrote in 2012 that students would have to be “wearing blinders” not to see that a “goodly number of law school graduates toil in drudgery or have less than hugely successful careers.”

This sort of statements about law degrees are, however, more of an exception than a rule. As with so many other things, the truth is generally hidden in the midst of BS fed to the public.
