Even though this animal cadaver is a reproduction, the IDEA of climbing inside a dead creature is DISGUSTING. Bear Grylls is nothing more than a Les Stroud wannabe. Albert, The person above was right on the mark. Grylls DOES INDEED travel to ALL of his filming locations with an entourage of camera technicians, script people (he needs to get his dialogue right, if he is going to convince his audience that he is "surviving"!), TWO personal assistants (just read the credits!), a Chef to prepare his meals (all THREE of them!) who does his cooking in an air conditioned (and heated, when they go to colderer locations) motorhome (also called an SUV). When the credits roll us, look for the name of a CATERING COMPANY. I assure you, Grylls and his crew are fed CATERED MEALS! There are set designers are on hand to ensure their outdoor locations are safe for setting up the extremely expensive, digital and computerized cameras, sound equipment, background lighting, and computer consoles to monitor it all. Occasionally, they add a few props to make it all look authentic and outdoorsy. Of course, there is the make up crew, to make sure this British twit looks good on camera. At NO TIME is this "adventurer" ever alone in the wilderness! The team always travels with a writer to add last minute script changes. Most important, in the credits, you will notice the name of a DOCTOR AND A Paramedic Team! Handy if Gryllss gets a tummy ache from eating worms and weeds. Just listen to his dialogue or voice overs, during the show, you'll hear him talk about his "crew", who are always "following at a distance", just in case. Chris, you should NEVER take anything you see on TV at face value. Bear Grylls is NOT an outdoorsman or an adventurer, and he far from being a survivalist. He is a TV performer, working from a script, with cameras, lights, set hands, sound technicians, a make up artist, and a Chef. There is a doctor on hand to keep Grylls sound and healthy. On location he spends his nights in a comfortable caravan, complete with color TV, a stereo and a BAR! His crew has their OWN trailers! Trust me, I earn my living as a writer. I had to do a series of articles about Reality TV, for a University Press, and I was asked to do one on survival shows. As Albert says, Canadian, Les Stroud, is the GENUINE ARTICLE. Before doing the SURVIVORMAN series, Mr. Stroud, with his wife, and two children, did a series about living life "Off The Grid", in a cabin/home that they built by themselves. They cleared their own road to their wilderness land, dug their own well, set up wind turbines and solar collectors to make their own electricity. They also grew and hunted their own food. It was a fascinating series. When he was filming Survivorman, There was no crew, no cozy camper, no hot meals. Stroud did his OWN camera work, using small hand held cameras, and he did not use a script. None of his episodes were scripted, and Stroud chose his own locations. Often he went without and water for days at a time, slept in the rain, the cold, and the blazing sun. Occasionally he got sick from eating from the land. Stroud spent seven days alone, in the wilderness, and THEN had to track out on his own to meet his crew camped many mile away. It is easy to understand how these adventures took their toll on him both physically and mentally. Being alone in the wilderness can be terrifying even for an experienced outdoorsman like Stroud. I'm sorry that charlatans like Grylls can cash in on the work of real explorers and teachers like Les Stroud and the late Steve Irwin.

Bear Grylls is a dirty fake. On average he requires a caravan of 5-10 suv's carrying everything from his hot meal he will enjoy between takes to the mini-camper he enjoys when he isn't "surviving" at the holiday inn overnight.<br><br>Look him up, its so sad hes so fake since so many people know him and enjoy his show.<br><br>If you are looking for an authentic survival show look no further than "Survivorman". Les Stroud the host of "Survivorman" had to discontinue the show after the third season, not because of low ratings but because of the toll the show took on his body (no food / water does that to you, which is what true survival puts you through).<br><br>Les Stroud of "Survivorman" is the true outdoorsman of our time, not the jacked-up hollywood stunt maniac that is Bear Grylls. If you want to see a British dork jump out of a helicopter and eat a tarantula just for the spectacle, go for it.
