I don’t think it’s as bad as everyone seems to think. I doubt it gets incredibly hot and I think that white thing behind the PC is some sort of (weird ass) fan.

I think it’s more about saving space and blocking light than hiding away. Whoever made it is either spoiled or works in the art world because he/she has a WACOM Intuous 3 pen [Classic too, it’s cheaper but so much better than the rubber grip].
