Man Suffers Collapsed Lung After 20 Pushups and Skipping Rope

Doctors in Henan, China, were shocked by the case of a middle-aged man who suffered a pneumothorax after mild physical exercise – 20 pushups and a few minutes of skipping rope.

The unnamed man told physicians that he had decided to get in shape as part of a New Year’s resolution, but things didn’t really play out like he imagined. Last month, he started doing pushups and skipping rope as a way of losing weight, but he only managed to do two sets of pushups and skip ropes for a few minutes when he started feeling bad. He stopped and went about his day, but when he woke up the next day, he started experiencing severe chest pain and difficulty breathing, especially after minimal physical effort, like climbing stairs. At one point, the pain got so bad that he went to the hospital where doctors diagnosed him with pneumothorax.

A 19-year-old man in China reportedly ended up with a hole in his lung while screaming his heart out at a concert of his favorite idol group.

A young man from Shenzhen, China, recently suffered a pneumothorax, also known as a ‘collapsed lung’, while screaming loudly during a concert of his favorite idol group. Chinese media reported that the 19-year-old was enthusiastically screaming during the band’s performance when he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his chest. he started experiencing difficulty breathing almost immediately and ended up passing out. The unnamed youth was taken to the emergency room of a Shenzen hospital where doctors concluded that he had suffered an alveolar rupture in one of his lungs due to screaming with excessive force during the concert.

Man Suffers Collapsed Lung by Singing His Heart Out During Karaoke

A 25-year-old man wound up in the emergency room with a collapsed lung after straining himself while singing karaoke at a friend’s birthday party.

Chinese media recently reported the bizarre case of a young man from Changsha, in China’s Hunan Province, who suffered a serious lung injury by trying to reach the high-pitch tones during a karaoke session. The man, known as Wang Zhe, reportedly attended a friend’s birthday party and decided to show off his voice by singing “New Drunken Concubine”, a song famous for the high-pitched tones it demands. When he reached the high-pitched part for the song, the 25-year-old man really gave it his all, only to feel a sharp pain in his chest which made him cut his act short. The pain was bearable, though, so he didn’t pay too much attention to it until the next day, when he found that he could barely breathe.
