Elancourt lies just 30 km from the center of Paris and if you ever visit France, it’s a trip worth taking. It’s here, at Elancourt, where you can see a big part of France‘s culture and history…in miniature. There are over 5 hectares of land covered with typical French landscapes, complete with castles, mansions, ponds, courts, pastures, all built at a scale of 1:30. There are over 160 miniature French monuments from all over the country, 60,000 miniature people, over 20,000 small trees, 5 rivers and 2 hectars of water. Not only people want to learn kung-fu and karate. Humans strive to learn the monkey-style kung-fu while monkeys try to learn our karate. It looks like this little monkey is on the right track, it’s even trying our cuisine. Seems only normal, since we eat bananas every day.

Who knew North Korea had the second largest hotel in the world? Too bad it’s deserted. Ryugyong Hotel was one of Kim Jong Il‘s plans of really putting North Korea on the World Map. He thought the best way to do that would be to build the world’s largest structure. The Koreans started buillding Ryugyong in 1987 but ceased construction in 1992 due to serious financial difficulties. The country never recovered from its financial crisis so the work on Ryugyong never picked up, until 2008 when the government decided to resume work on their giant super-structure. With North Korea‘s tourism at an absolute low, Ryugyong Hotel will probably be nothing more than a really large building, although Kim Jong Il has tried to convince the world that his huge hotel is a success by faking images and spreading them in the media.

And I don’t mean just any guitar… This is an exact replica of Australian singer Josh Pike‘s favorite guitar. He had it built for his next music video, entitled “Make You Happy”. Josh was never very popular on an international level, but now that he has a guitar boat, he’s definitely going places. For those of you who were wondering, no, the guitar boat is not playable, but then again you would need giant hands to try it and find out, so I guess it remains a mistery. Photo Credits

There have been many cases in which animals took in cubs that didn’t belong to them, or even their species, like this adorable little pig. But I’ve never seen a monkey taking so well to a couple of tiger cubs before. After Hurricane Hannah ravaged the state of South Carolina, the tigers of one of the zoos started acting very aggressive and were considered a danger to their young. So these two white tiger cubs were separated from their mother and adopted by a 2-year-old chimpanzee. As you can see from the photos he’s really taking parenting seriously. Designed by its owner, Robert Bruno, the Steel House is built entirely out of steel and weighs at about 110 tons. That’s a lot of steel, if someone was to sell the house for raw material alone, they’d probably fetch something around $30,000. But that’s just small change for a project that Bruno has worked on for 28 years, ever since he saw a similar sculpture and thought it would be nice to actually walk through something like it. The interior of this unusual house built in Lubbock, Texas, is also made out of forged steel and it was all made by hand.

I remember when I used to skate around with my roller-blades, but sadly, this little turtle can’t take his off. A terrible accident in which it lost one of it front legs forced this turtle to spend the rest of its days on a roller-skate. It took a while to get used to it but now she’s always the first to arrive when food is served.

Standard churches don’t usually look like this, but then again, Leaf Chapel isn’t an ordinary church. Designed by Klein-Dytham Architecture, at the special request of a Japanese hotel-owner, the Leaf Chapel is located inside a very popular resort in the Japanese Alps. Its unusual design was cleverly thought through, because this chapel is as as much a business as it is a sacred place. People of all faiths come here to get married so the Leaf Chapel had to have an ecumenical design, with no identifying iconographies.  Risonare mountain resort has become even more popular after the addition of the 550-square foot Leaf Chapel.

Just what every passionate Christian ever wanted. The Prayer Booth could be just as big as the phone booth was before cell-phones hit the market. Think about it, there’s hardly a time when any Christian doesn’t feel like asking God for a favor, or thanking him for something, but we can’t just drop to our knees in the middle of the street, put our hands together and start talking to the Man upstairs. The Prayer Booth is the perfect solution to the problem, put down your bags, enter the booth, follow the clever instructions and you’re done. Taste worth dying for! That’s the motto of Heart-Attack Grill, a restaurant that prides itself on offering its customers probably the fattest, most dangerous food they’ll ever eat. But, like we all know, the greasiest food is also the tastiest. Heart-Attack Grill‘s menu includes the simple, double, triple and quadruple Bypass Burgers, Flatliner Fries (deep-fried in pure lard), Jolt Cola and no-filter cigarettes. If you want to put your life on the line to experience the heavenly taste of fat food, all you have to do is travel to Chandler, Arizona, where Heart-Attack Grill is located. In case you do get a heart-attack, there are nurses in the restaurant, the only problem is they have no medical training, they just serve the food and look very hot, but that’s beeter than nothing right?

One of the coolest motorcycles I’ve ever seen and a true competitor for the Tomahawk bike. The Cat1 Uber-bike is the creation of artist Byron Hemmes. It is known as the Jaguar Concept Motorcycle, one of the many bike concepts based on popular car and motorcycle logos by Massow Concept Cycles. The Cat1 is the first one that was actually constructed and what a beauty it turned out to be. The Jaguar Concept Bike is powered by a 1200cc Buell 97 S3 Thunderbolt engine, its body is build out of high-quality stainless steel and the leaping jaguar on which the rider sits has been covered in high-end ebony lacquer. Jaguar is planning to use this powerful bike in a new, radical brand-awareness campaign. This one-of-a-kind Cat1 Uber-bike has been priced at $567,000. You can find its official specs below:

A few months ago I wrote a post about the world’s tallest tower near Legoland Windsor, in England, but now it is forced to hand over the title to the new LEGO Tower in Vienna. Built by hundreds of children near Vienna‘s city-hall, the new world’s tallest LEGO tower ended up being 29,48 meters tall, beating the previous tower of “only” 29,03 meters. The LEGO tower in Vienna was built using a crane and several support wires that secured it against strong winds. After the record was certified by an official judge from The Guinness Book of Records, the LEGO Tower was dismantled. And there’s no better proof than the fellow in these photos, he has a much better punk hairdo than I’ve seen on most of the human members of the punk movement. Photographed in Mary River, near the town of Kenilvors, Australia, this blue-eyed turtle sports what looks like an outrageous Iroquois hair-style. But in reality, the green “hair” on the turtle‘s head is just green algae that grow parasitically. I bet any punk-rocker would be proud to have this lovely turtle as a pet. Photo Source

You have to hand it to the Japanese, they know violence sells and they market it like no other country can. But this has to be the dumbest sport in history, two fat guys pounding each other with neon-rods until they’re both soaked in blood? I have no idea what this sport is called or who came up with the idea, but apparently it’s very popular in the Land of the Rising Sun, despite it’s obvious stupidity. I’d rather watch some K1 or UFC any day, this is just like wrestling only with real blood. In the world of fashion Kate Moss was always worth her weight in gold, but now she really is gold…literally.  British artist Marc Quin, famous for works like “Allison Lapper pregnant“, “Sphinx” or “Self“, a bust of his head for which he used eight pints of his own blood, presented his latest masterpiece, “Siren” a 50 kg solid gold statue of international supermodel Kate Moss. The 1,5 million pounds statue is on display at the British Museum, in the Nereid Hall. A part of his latest collection, entitled Statuephilia, “Siren” depicts Kate Moss in a Yoga position and has already been named “the Aphrodite of our time“. Marc Quinn‘s “Siren” is said to be the largest gold statue created since the time of Ancient Egypt.
