A quick perusal of their Instagram page tells you they are digitally rendered avatars, not real people, but many of their 280,000 followers don’t know, or simply don’t care. The comments section of their posts is always full of compliments, invitations, and heart emojis.
The creators of Instagram’s most popular conjoined twins even created a backstory for them, complete with AI-generated childhood photos and made-up stories about their daily lives. This only made their fans more invested in them, to the point where they ignore the fact that they aren’t real.
“Our spines were dangerously fused together, so we had to undergo several surgeries and operations throughout our lives after birth, and that’s why we have these beautiful scars,” Valeria and Camila revealed in one of their posts.
Unlike other established AI-generated influencers, Valeria and Camila never disclosed this important fact, leaving followers to wonder if they were actual humans. This has led some people to believe that the people behind their account may have nefarious plans, such as attracting as many fans as possible on social media before directing them to paid content platforms. We’ll just have to wait and see.
