Brazilian football legend Neymar Jr. stands to inherit over $1.1 million after being named the only heir of a single, childless billionaire he has never even met.
You know the story – an anonymous billionaire leaves his fortune to a poor soul and changes their life forever. Most of us have dreamed of something similar happening at one point in our lives, but Brazilian footballer Neymar Jr. is actually living the dream, as he reportedly stands to inherit $1.14 billion from an anonymous man who passed away recently. Brazilian news outlet RIC reported that the will was formalised at an office in Porto Alegre and authenticated on June 12 with two witnesses present. The anonymous billionaire was reportedly single and childless, and selected Neymar jr as his sole heir because he identified with him at a personal level, even though they had never met.

33-year-old Neymar has yet to comment on the situation, but the will could be subject to legal complications even if it is approved by Brazilian courts. Even though he hardly needs the money, as he reportedly has a net worth of $300 to $330 million, Neymar would most likely jump to billionaire status literally overnight.
Brazilian media reported that the unknown billionaire admired Neymar Jr both as a footballer and as a family man, especially for the close relationship with his father, which reminded him of his own late father.
“I like Neymar, I identify with him a lot,” the document allegedly reads. “He’s not self-serving, something rare these days. His connection with his father reminds me a lot of the one I had with mine, who has passed away.”
The gigantic inheritance reportedly consists of various assets, including properties, investments, and shares in profitable companies.
