DC Comics Sues Chilean Bakery “Superpan” Over Copyright Infringement

After nearly three years of litigation with entertainment giant DC Comics, a small neighborhood bakery in Chile has retained the right to use the brand “Superpan”.

41-year-old Gonzalo Montenegro has been selling bread in his native Quinta Normal, a commune in the Santiago province, for over three decades. As a youth, he would promote his products by wearing a green “Peter Pan” t-shirt, and one with the iconic symbol of the “Man of Steel”. It was the second one that really stuck with people, and before long, they started calling him “Superpan”, a play on words combining “Superman” and “pan”, the Spanish word for ‘bread’. Over the last 28 years, Montenegro used ‘Superpan’ as a brand to sell his bakery products, but some three years ago, he learned that he was being sued by DC Comics, the owners of Superman.

Superman Fan Undergoes Plastic Surgery to Look Like His Favorite Superhero

Herbert Chavez, a Superman fan from the Philippines, is so obsessed with the Man of Steel that he underwent several plastic surgery procedures just to look like his favorite superhero.

According to a video report by Bandila News’ Marie Lozano, 35-year-old Herbert Chavez has dramatically altered his appearance to look more like Superman. Unfortunately, the report is in Filipino and I’m not very good at that, but the guys at Real Self Blog translated some of it and managed to uncover that Chavez first went under the knife in 1995 and he’s had several other procedures since then. He had a chin augmentation to get Superman’s cleft, rhinoplasty to get Christopher Reeves nose, silicone injections for more plump lips and even thigh implants for a more muscular look. Examining the before and after photos, they speculate he may also have had eye surgery, cheek augmentation and jaw augmentation.

Superman Marries Wonder Woman

A true superhero wedding took place on Saturday, in a warehouse in Portland, where Superman and Wonder Woman became husband and wife. I know, you were expecting him to marry Lois Lane, but life is just full of surprises.

When he asked her to marry him, Tony Lucchese told his beloved Sarah LaFore she was his kryptonite and gave her a green diamond ring. Although none of them is a comic-book fan, they kept joking about having a superhero wedding, until it turned into something serious.

They had custom suits tailored and Tony, with the help of his friends, built a Fortress of Solitude altar, in a hangar, so they could be married in a superhero setting. The groomsmen included Spider-man, Aquaman, Flash, The Hulk and Batman, while the maids of honor were dressed as amazons and armed with spears.

Really original stuff and all I can say is: I wish them a superhero marriage as well.
