This New Los Angeles Nightclub Will Only Admit Attractive People

Beautiful people sick of having to share the same partying space with less attractive human specimens will soon get the chance to mingle only with their own kind at a new bar that turns away ugly people.

It sounds like a joke, but, sadly, it is not. The new venue is being opened by BeautifulPeople.com, an exclusive social media platform that only accepts good looking men and women. Since it launched in 2002, it has reportedly rejected over 11 million people, with only 800,000 gaining the coveted membership status. To join the controversial website, applicants have to pass a strict rating process, where current members vote during a period of 48 hours, based on submitted photographs and a short bio.

Greg Hodge, managing director of BeautifulPeople.com, says that the new club is the materialization of the website users’ wishes. “We listen to our members and they are fed up of going out to expensive bars, hoping to meet similarly beautiful people, only to spend the night wishing that the lighting was lower,” he recently said. We are very excited about the opening of our flagship bar. We will take the same ethos into this project as we did when we launched the dating site, we are simply taking the BeautifulPeople concept into the real world.”

Members of the BeautifulPeople website will obviously be given priority access to the bar and tables, while non-members and guests will have their “hotness” judged on site, by a team of door pickers with inside knowledge of the standards that the site’s members expect. The unique establishment will even have a resident hair and make-up artist to provide touch-ups for free guests and ensure they’re looking their best.

Luckily, looking like a million bucks is apparently not the only way to gain access to this beautiful-people-only nightclub. Actually having a million bucks can get you in as well. “Wealth is a strong factor of perceived attractiveness — especially with women,” Hodge says. “We see this mirrored through the site’s rating system where men who exude wealth and success in their images, but who may not be that attractive, are often voted in. The way we see it, money can be attractive too, so on a discretionary basis we may make exceptions for certain high net-worth individuals.”

A third option to get into this party Mecca for beautiful people is to be introduced by a membership committee of celebrity trainers, models, actors and directors.

To ensure that they don’t lower the level of physical attractiveness inside the club, all staff will be recruited through the BeautifulPeople website.

If you think you’re hot enough to wonder about the menu you’ll be able to enjoy, the new nightclub has an extensive list of spirits and champagne, as well as “beauty cocktails” made with ingredients like aloe vera, coconut water, bee pollen and avocado. You’ll also be able to order lean meats from the grill and healthy raw foods. Sounds lovely…

“Any decent club operator will tell you that door policy is key. Our door policy is no different to that of the VIP rooms of leading night spots in style capitals all around the world,” Leonardo Da Silva, the club’s operations director says. “BeautifulPeople.com has been called the VIP room of the online dating industry and the club will closely mirror this virtual world.”

The new nightclub is set to open in February 2017, in West Hollywood. See you there! Just kidding, you’re definitely not hot enough…
