Husband and Wife Look so Similar They Often Get Mistaken for Identical Twins

A young couple from China’s Guangdong province has become famous for their uncanny resemblance, leading many people to speculate that they might be long-lost siblings.

Liang Caiyu and He Xiansheng, both in their twenties, run a herbal medicine shop in Dongguan, Guangdong province. Although they both come from families with decades of experience in traditional herbal medicine, the two struggled to get their business off the ground until they started doing promotional clips on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok. After noticing how similar they looked, Liang convinced her husband to take part in funny clips where they dressed alike to emphasize their likeness even more. Today, these clips are the couple’s main promotional material for the shop.

“When we first met, I didn’t think we looked alike at all,” Liang said. “It was only after living together for several years that I slowly realised we resembled one another more. For the past two years, we’ve been together almost around the clock, working, eating, and resting together. I guess that’s why we’ve become increasingly alike.”

Although He has always been naturally introverted, he eventually agreed to star in his wife’s viral clips, and even cross-dress to showcase their likeness. It wasn’t long before fans started following their business page just to keep an eye on the identical husband and wife.

The young couple’s uncanny resemblance recently went viral on Chinese social media, leaving many wondering if they aren’t identical twins rather than husband and wife.

“Go get a DNA test; what if you’re actually long-lost siblings?” one person commented.

“They don’t just look alike; they’re identical. Even the double chin folds match,” someone else wrote.
