Woman Attracted to Inanimate Objects Marries Briefcase Named Gideon

A 24-year-old woman from Moscow, Russia, met her husband, Gideon, five years ago, at a hardware store, while shopping for photoshoot props. Gideon just looked irresistible, so she ended up buying “him”, and the rest is history. Gideon is a metallic briefcase…

Rain Gordon, who works as a nursery school teacher, claims that her fascination with inanimate objects began at a very young age. She has always believed that everything around her had a soul, and as time went by, her belief in animism only got stronger. In her early teenage years, she fell in love with a new shopping center that opened in her home city, but she knew people thought that was wrong, so she didn’t tell anyone. Rain is now opening up about her love story with Gideon the briefcase in order to break down the misconceptions and stigma surrounding romantic relationships with inanimate objects.

“The sight of Gideon makes my heart skip a beat. I am madly in love with silver, mirror reflections and metal,” Rain Gordon told Caters News. “People don’t understand my feeling. I’ve been told I’m sick and to seek treatment. “I don’t let it offend me anymore.”

The 24-year-old met Gideon in August of 2015, after purchasing him at a hardware store as props for a photoshoot. As time passed, she felt herself falling in love with the briefcase, and they became a couple in November of that same year. They’ve been going steady ever since and finally tied the knot this past June, after being wed by a friend.

“I had no idea that we would end up together. I admired how he looked, but I didn’t think anything more,” Rain said. “But then I started liking Gideon for more than that. I slowly realized I was starting to fall in love. We shared our first hug and kiss, and we spent more time together in the evenings and nights. We could have philosophical conversations for three or four hours.”

Gordon claims that she is not a strict objectum sexual, in fact, she stated dating a man in 2017, but ended the relationship after two years. One of the reasons they broke up was that he had discovered her love for inanimate objects, but he just couldn’t connect with him like she did with Gideon.

“When faced with a choice between him and Gideon, I chose Gideon without any hesitation,” Rain said. “I always have and always will choose him. For me, objects – although I don’t really like using that word – really are better than people.”

Rain and Gideon got married in June, in a ceremony that she claims was attended by her friends and family. Even though it’s not an official marriage, she is just happy that their relationship has moved to a new level.

This isn’t the first time a person confesses their love for an inanimate object. Back in 2013 we wrote about Australian artist Jodi Rose, who married a 600-year-old stone bridge in France.
