Faith-the biped dog

Dogs need 4 legs to walk…or do they?

Well most of them do, but not wonder dog Faith. She was born with deformities, she only had one front leg and it had to be removed when she was 7 months because it was starting to atrophy. But thanks to the care of her adoptive owners Faith managed to survive and grow into an amazing dog. She learned to move by using only her 2 remaining legs, but, according to her owners although it was a very difficult process, it was also natural.

Faith has become a star and her owners have started the With Little Faith Foundation and they travel along with their pet, spreading their faith and God’s love to as many as they can.

Name the dog Faith and it’s a miracle.
Name it Darwin and it shows how animals adapt.

Only look for one thing and that’s all you’re going to find.

  2. christina says:

this is an amazing inspiring story and to the morons on here starting drama grow up dont be jealous that the dog has done more with his life than you ever will

  3. Jesus says:

    Prometheus i totally agree.

  4. Chris says:

Uh, religious people. Prometheus got it right…

  5. theone says:

ugh. people people. Christina was right. Left was actually 5 right turns. Prometheus wanted to inject reason into an unbiased emotional event; so I can only inject nonsense for no reason.

    >>BTW
I is one of dem atheistes

Faith is a cool dog! I didn’t even really pay attention to the part about her owners being involved in the church. All that aside its amazing to see people out there who are willing to care for an animal that has had serious medical problems and serious physical maladies. A lot of people would’ve just had the dog put down, or given her away. So on that merit alone I feel pretty safe saying that her owners are sweet people with good hearts.

  7. Brianna says:

Religion or not, this dog is amazing

  8. mykpat says:

I have a dog very similar to Faith in breed and look, however she has four legs. She will stand up with her front legs folded in, but despite my boy’s encouragement, she has never walked more than three steps on her hind legs.

Your work with her and acceptance of her as a puppy is inspiring.

Both my boys and I were thrilled to see Faith on TV–so nice to see her living a “dog’s life” and she always looks so happy!

  9. steve says:

Haha I’m not religious at all but either way you look at it, this dog is pretty damn awesome.

  10. bill says:

u people are ALL morons. It is obviously photoshopped.

  11. _mark says:

Bill, no it’s not photoshopped! look her up on youtube. she’s a real dog! one of the most amazing dogs ever!

  12. _mark says:

oh, i wanted to mention also that she has a facebook page too. I’m friends with her!

Whilst the dog is amazing its use/abuse to spread religious superstition is reprehensible.

  15. kroltan says:

Fast forward a few years when this dog is stricken with an acute case of hip dysplasia. I’m sure this will be attributed to the mean old Devil.

  16. myself says:

Dammit. Now a fucking mutt has priority over me in parking lots.

  17. Gabriel says:

Test your self, dogs are not suppose to walk on two but on four legs. Problems can actually arize because of the weight pushing on the pelvic area of that dog. So, this dog might be a wonder, but when it comes to age you’ll notice that even walking is impossible. Why not build the dog a kart under his chest with wheels strapped in? So he’s not pushing all its weight on those pelvic parts……

  18. Lygia Foster says:

Interesting comment that by Gabriel! When I start to read him I thought he was a jerk, but at the end… he is totally right. This dog will suffer when got age and a better option would be a kart with wheels.

  19. Gd Singh says:

    Amazing.

  20. Miss Silver says:

Awww, that dog just looks happy! There is just so much joy in her eyes. :)

  21. Hello, I’m Faith’s mom, and I thought it would be best to go ahead and answer the questions posed – - and/or comments made about Faith’s hips. Where it is true, she is a mammal and all mammals will sooner or later have problems walking, Faith has a unique structure that adapted as she grew. Believe it or not, she’s fine. She is seen regularly by vets and actually more often than most, as doctors around the world marvel at her hips and joints all the time. Faith takes suppliments from an all-natural company called VETIONX and so far she’s been really healthy. When the time comes, and no one argues that it will, Faith will be given the best Army Corp engineered device possible I’m sure. To answer the question or comments about her being used to spread a religious message – well, her name says a lot. She’s just a tool God uses to show what it is to have FAITH.

  22. rfong says:

Miracles are intrinsically prone to the selective factor that any case that people *classify* as a miracle is going to be statistically improbable. Unfortunately, a million other amputee dogs who happened to have a less adaptable pelvic structure died unnoticed. But given a sufficiently large sample size, there’s always going to be someone who beats the odds.

    P.S. cute dog =)

I was half-expecting someone to satirically claim that Faith’s capability for bipedal motion is proof of evolution…

  23. Al says:

What a beautiful story! Thank you for sharing it and God bless little Faith – what an amazing dog. What pulls at my heartstrings and makes me tear up is the strong heart and will to overcome adversities of this little dog. The joy and love that come from her face are and inspiration to me and I will be interested in learning more about and following this wonderful animal in her journey through life. She can teach us humans a lot.

  24. Julian says:

This is one of the most touching things I’ve ever seen in my life. This just reminds me of how much I love dogs. They want and work to make things better and their owners are all the reason they need to do it. I only wish that she wasn’t turned into a representative of “God’s love”. It is so something (certain) Christians would latch onto as proof of their faith and it breaks my heart that the triumph of this brave pup is not a standalone wonder, but rather one that serves another wonder, one bigger, yet undeserving.

  25. Crashoverride says:

GOD is made by menkind, thouwards menkind to dominate menkind…. religion is a bunch of crap, just a made up story to enslave the ppl.
But congrats to the owners of the dog to care for such an animal with malfunctions…. good ppl arent the ones who goes to churches, good ppl are the ones who care for animals (those also mostly care for others too)

  26. th dog even looks happy!

  27. [...] the life of pets born with abnormalities, or with amputated limbs. This is great, but dogs like Faith – the biped dog don’t need such [...]

  28. Are You Stupid says:

When Faith the dog was born, multiple vets advised her owner to put her down. Jude should be arrested for animal abuse. This is seriously cruel to let her live.
As to Jude’s “To answer the question or comments about her being used to spread a religious message – well, her name says a lot,” I say, God didn’t name the dog. You did. You propagate your own agenda through the suffering of an animal.
Your dog isn’t a tool that God uses. You are the tool, you manipulative woman.

  29. lol says:

Wow you non religious people are sad. Not a miracle? Clearly it is because if this dog had been owned by a non religious person like some of you then surely it would have been put down early in its life. Heck even now some morons still want to put it down. This dog is amazing, living a nice life with loving people and spreading joy to many others. If you can’t just appreciate the good that comes from this story and need to instead cry and moan about religion, well I think you’ve missed the whole point in both this story and in life.

  30. Jpople says:

I feel like a bad person, but personally I have a really difficult time taking her seriously.

  31. Fragacide says:

I don’t need no damn front legs… they’ll just weigh my front end down!
