Dogs need 4 legs to walk…or do they?

Well most of them do, but not wonder dog Faith. She was born with deformities, she only had one front leg and it had to be removed when she was 7 months because it was starting to atrophy. But thanks to the care of her adoptive owners Faith managed to survive and grow into an amazing dog. She learned to move by using only her 2 remaining legs, but, according to her owners although it was a very difficult process, it was also natural.

Faith has become a star and her owners have started the With Little Faith Foundation and they travel along with their pet, spreading their faith and God’s love to as many as they can. Here’s Faith’s official site.

This is truly remarkable. But I feel uncomfortable with Faith’s website. Her owner has to stop giving credit to Jesus and give credit to the dog and the family. Jesus had nothing to do with Faith’s success. Faith’s determination and the perseverance of the people who love her are the only reason she can walk on two legs… I don’t see Jesus anywhere in the equation.

Quite funny… How does it eat? I dare say a normal dog dish is out of the question… unless the dog burrows into it nose first. Almost any normal dog function would be impossible. Running? nope. Marking territory? haha no. Taking a dump would be a feat.

Also, a dog standing like that would lose its balance quickly. They have too small of feet to support them and help them balance, plus their structure would make them front-heavy - with no way of catching themselves when they fall. How would it get upright in the first place? Try laying down on your belly and then getting up just using your legs - no arms for balance or pushing off, anything. Then restrict your legs like a dog’s would be (forward about 5 degrees) and try it. Hard? :P

    I’d say it’s most likely a photoshop job…

P.S.: To everyone that believes the people that said it was a photoshop really meant it, you guys are morons. No matter what you post, someone out there is stupid enough to take you seriously. I hate people that take everything people say seriously. And no, god had nothing to do with this. It was the love of the family and the determination of the dog. This is in no way photoshopped, those are genuine pictures of a bipedal dog. You really think there aren’t two legged dogs in the world? You must not get around much. I’ve seen footage of this very dog. Check it out for yourselves:

    http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=yYhzOxSUCA4&feature=related

No, god did not make this dog the way it is. God is merely a human delusion, a perverted excuse to explain what we do not know, thus eliminating the search for how things work and seeking real answers. No perfect god would create such grotesque deformities. This is an example of stupid design, not intelligent design. We no longer need anthropomorphic beings interfering with our lives. We have science to explain how things work.

You want to blame God for everything but then discount him like He doesn’t exist. -.- Just because that last part isn’t quoted anywhere here, you know it’s true 9 times out of 10.

Why would anyone feel sorry for this dog? It seems to me like he has a great family, and a really happy existence. The dog is probably used to being bi-pedal and isn’t insecure (like humans tend to be). That dog is an inspiration, and shame on all of you that are being nasty in this thread.

Like ‘b’ said: “nothing says gods love like an animal that the good lord in all his love choose to be a deformed cripple……” Hey, lets talk about all the Americans god DIDN’T save on 9/11/01. Let’s talk about all the wars waged ‘in gods name.’ Let’s talk about the little 11 year old girl whose parents let die because they’d rather pray than take her to a hospital.

There is no god, get over it. Stop blaming your failures on someone else or thanking them for your successes. There is no god. What makes you think you’re any more special than any of the other creatures that evolved on this planet which orbits some random star in some random galaxy in no particular part of the universe? There are some bitter people posting here…saying there’s no God, but angry at him all the same. You can’t blame him for something WE did! Folks, at least understand the Christian world view:

Humanity walked away from God and the world became broken because of it. Have you ever wondered why a human is the noblest of creatures, yet does the most ignoble things? We’re guilty and we need a Savior.

A picture of a deformed dog, amazingly, causes a discussion about God! It’s written on our hearts to think about God (whether for him or against him) when we see such things.

I mean he is not going to push his head around on the ground pushing with his back legs. People with no legs can walk with their hands.
God has nothing to do with it. Either the dog was crippled at birth or a bus had something to do with it. It is what it is. My money is that the mother dog was on crack, giving birth to a crippled dog, and the dog was taught by circus folk and carnies, then PETA came along and took the dog to show how amazing a dog is.

    People,
let’s think about why we like this dog. Or, why we dislike the comments made about human pursuits other than that of animal love. i think we like this dog partly because of it’s pseudo-ability to resemble a biped [human] and therefore bring it closer to our relative consciousness combined with our love of anthropomorphic beings/ images- Mickey/ Mortimer Mouse/ Donald Duck/ Goofy/ Tom/ Jerry etc.

God has no meaning in this, or any other act of nature whereby it has eliminated a harmful attribute in the being’s make-up; thereby rendering it, in this case, without two front legs. Without two front legs, by default, it has had to stand tall - much like a blind person has to feel for images and other deformities, large or small compensate due to our much maligned interference.
Unless you have proof that God (whoever he/she/it is) has told you directly, and; the artist has come forward contesting ownership of ‘Photoshopping’ the images, please just watch, make your own minds up and post thoughtful and concise comments.
Until such a time will the God Squad and the “Fail” community please abstain from breathing further life into each corner. We need less misguided fools on this planet.
    Cheers.

In my opinion, religion has no place in a modern society. I believe that all people should evaluate statements in a scientific manner and that religious beliefs should be replaced with rational thought.

Religion has come and go in years past–the Greeks believed in Zeus and the others atop Mt. Olympus in just the same way as Christians, Muslims, and Jews believe in their God(s). Why do we dismiss these gods? Because they are silly.

If humans as a species are to progress, I surmise that we must give up these irrational barriers or be thrust into the era of the cavemen once again.

This is a very interesting article and the photos are quite cute. If the dog is in pain and wants to die, that certainly is not showing here. Frankly I think that if she is in any pain, she just deals with it like an animal does–without feeling sorry for herself, or bitter because of her situation. *ahem*

As for her owners’ choice to use the dog as a demonstration of the power of their religious beliefs, I don’t have a problem with that and don’t understand why anyone else would.

With any luck our civilization will manage to hang on to its value of liberty. Free human beings can believe in whatever they choose and worship whatever they want to. They can also waste their entire day trolling a web site if they want, which is totally fine with me because it keeps them off the streets while I’m out there having a good time. Everyone’s a winner. Yours in Chaos, Scarlett

This is bad, very bad. This is natural selection and we don’t even realize it. In the wild, such an animal would be dead within the day. In our wild, it is praised and will go on to have offspring. This dog will pass it’s ability to walk onto it’s offspring. It’s only a matter of time before they start using tools and then they are at war with us.

It is inspiring that a animal with such a disabillity keeps going, adapted to his situation.

The first time I saw this dog on Video my heart just felt so wonderful. Seeing this dog made me feel like we all can do the best with what the “cards” have dealt us. This dog Faith is such a blessing to see and read about. What a beautiful precious pet. I would really love to see her in person.
We notice from other postings some people are born deformed in the heart.
God Bless you the people who took her in and gave her a life. I bet she has given you back so much more in love and friendship.

If I saw that thing I’d shoot it. it is not in GOD’S PLAN to have mutant creatures spoiling HIS plan. Any animal not fit to live should be killed. Any creature not perfect should be removed - it is the only way to prepare the earth for JESUS’ glorious return.

    Me despido y sigan peleando.

If I read all your comments in english, u at least must be read ONE in spanish. Thank You.

it just goes to show that any kind of adaptation can occur given the right (well, not “right”, because that’s implying that a dog with two legs is “right” o.0) conditions. Maybe early humans lost their front legs at some point…then…grew them back…

    Maybe not.

what’s perhaps more disturbing about this page than the jesus dog with only 2 limbs is the amount of people who took the photoshop comment seriously.

Yeah, sure, it’s photoshopped. THAT’S why I’ve been to one of these presentations with Faith. I wasn’t aware you could photoshop real life! Hell, if that works, give me a clone stamp for my zits and a liquify tool for my fat!

P.S. That dog appears to have more drive and intelligence then half the people that have posted comments… Please castrate them so they cannot procreate. GOD BLESS!

This story is not inspirational, because that would require a conscious decision on the part of the dog to “carry on” despite a lack of front legs. It is inspirational when a person makes this kind of choice, but the dog doesn’t know any better.

Fascinating that this turned into a religious discussion. Anyone who thinks God’s plan is for us all to be happy and perfect is deluded. Suffering happens because we are jerks, not because God is. Don’t ask why God allows suffering to happen; ask why you allow it to happen.

Killing off all imperfect animals? Wow… I’m not going to say anything more about it than that.

The dog is cool. I wonder how it craps though. It can’t really squat… I’d love to have a biped Moose. Can you imagine THAT thing walking around with you? “Hey guys look at Faith the biped dog!!” “Oh yeah? Check out Kent my biped moose.” Sounds like a good companion to me…
