KAZ is an Italian-Japanese joint project to make an electric limousine.
Keio Advanced Zero-Emissions vehicle, that’s what KAZ stands for. It took 5 years to build and cost $4 million but the result is more than impressive: it has 6 electric engines powering the limousines six wheels, each producing 74 horse-power and 74 lb-ft. of torque. That means this baby goes from 0 to 62mph in just 7 seconds, reaches a quarter mile in 15 seconds and has a top speed of 193.3 km/h.
It’s is powered by 84 lithium batteries that can carry the car for 186 miles on a single charge. It might not be the best-looking car out there but it’s environment-friendly and it runs perfectly.

This is great for the environment! Does not look that bad but it has to be tricked up to be used for any proms in this area!

Jesus, does it have to look like a Fiat Multipla just ’cause it’s electric? Still though, I love in-wheel drive, it’s my favorite thing about electric cars. That is, aside from needing no transmission, no clutch, longevity that could stretch to centuries (Seattle’s electric buses have new bodies but they’re using the same engines that have been in service since the forties. They just don’t wear out, so we take them from the old buses and put them in new ones every thirty years or so) and being able to start from a standing stop. Plus, with that in-wheel drive you can have all-wheel-drive with no differentials.

The “KAZ” acronym has been already used for KAZ-608 “Kolhida” - one of the most unsuccessful vehicles in former USSR. Bad sign …

The Kaz Limo is one of the most interesting limousines that one will ever see. Its strange exterior and overloaded engine capacity make it one of the coolest cars ever. The Kaz Limousine was built as a collaboration between 14 Japanese companies and Italy’s I.D.E.A. Institute.

I have had the electric limousine concept (and domain) for over a decade. I came across the Eliicta and Kaz limousines on google search some time ago. These are some of the best examples of modern electric vehicles. I run my Mercedes Benz on Bio-Diesel for my chauffeured car service as a baby step to an all electric limousine fleet when I get financing. My vision is becoming a reality! Pax.
