The World’s Largest Cheesecake

55 Mexican cooks worked hard to create the world’s largest cheesecake.

The giant cheesake was presented to the world on january 25, in Mexico City. It took the 55 cooks 60 hours to make, using almost a whole ton of cream cheese, nearly a ton of yogurt, 350 kg of pastry, 250 kg of sugar and 50 kg of butter. The final result was a 2 ton calorie bomb.

This was the first cheesecake record aknowledged by the Guinness Book of Records, so there wasn’t any competition. The  world’s largest cheesecake was sliced into pieces and given to over 20,000 people throughout Mexico City.

Eliica – World’s Fastest Electric Car

The Eliica prototype created quite a lot of hype when it was unveilled in 2003, both because of its incredible specifications and ugly looks. Eliica is a fully electric super-car created by a team of engineers from Keio University, Japan. The eight-wheeled vehicle is powered by a pack of large lithium-ion batteries that help it go from 0 to 100 km. per hour in just 4 seconds and reach a top speed of 402 km/h.

Each of Eliica‘s eight wheels produce 80 horsepower and its batteries provide power for a 321 km ride. Hiroshi Shimizu, head of the Eliica project, is considering producing a limited series. The exclusive super-car costs &320,000.

Gay Bob – The World’s First Gay Doll

First launched back in 1977 by Harvey Rosenberg, Gay Bob was the first gay doll ever created. Bob was 13 inches tall, had blond hair, a pierced ear and wore a flanel shirt, tight jeans and cowboy boots. Gay Bob was anatomically correct and was created as a cross between Robert Redford and Paul Newman.

Bob’s box was shaped like a closet and it came with a catalog from where you could order additional clothing for your gay doll. It created quite a lot of controversy in a time when homosexuality was not as “popular” as it is today.

Show Your Kids The Real World

If you’re one of those parents who want to show their offsprings what the real world is like, from an early age, than here are some great Christmas toys for them. Deadly car accidents, riots, train wrecks, man-slaughter, theft and more are all available for your children. Not the kind of present I’d buy my kids, but maybe there are people out there who are interested.

World’s Biggest Salmon

I love salmon, especially smoked, but I never knew they were so ugly. Just so you don’t lose your appetite completely, I will say not all salmon looks this bad, only Chinook salmon.

This particular Chinook salmon was found by biologist Doug Killam in Battle Creek, near Anderson and is apparently the largest salmon in the world, weighing 85 pounds. I should say was the largest salmon in the world since Killam only found the carcass.  Take a look:

World’s Most Expensive Grill

While some love to tune their cars and turn them into eye-candy, others are more passionate about their grills. Like this man here, he spent around $15,000 to make a smoking grill. Complete with high quality speakers, amplifiers and even a touchscreen display, this grill is one of a kind in the whole world. It makes a mean steak too.

World’s Heaviest Man Gets Married

Manuel Uribe, the World’s Heaviest man Record holder, according to Guinness Book of Records, tied the not with his beloved Claudia Solis. despite losing 550lbs out of the 1,230 he weighed back in 2006 when he got his title, Uribe was not able to leave the bed he has been confined to for the past years. The bed was decorated in white and loaded on the back of a truck and carried to the place where the ceremony took place.

More than 400 people and multiple camera crews enjoyed the wedding party, but Uribe stuck to his diet and resisted tasting the five-tier cake prepared for the event. Manuel Uribe announced earlier this year that his goal is to stand up at the altar for his wedding on October 26, but unfortunately he wasn’t able to. During the couple’s first dance Claudia held Manuel’s hand while she swayed to the music.

Manuel Uribe plans to reach the weight of 220 pounds in the next few years. Good luck!

World’s Most Flexible Secretary

I wouldn’t mind having her take all my calls, handle my mail and…Well, that last one doesn’t exactly fit the typical secretary job description. Must be nice being able to hold two jobs, one as a secretary and one as a contortionist, it’s easier to pay the bills.

Or she could be a secretary for a firm that handle a lot of male clients, she’s the perfect bait.

I wonder if she knows Rubber Boy, they could really hit it off.

Ryugyong – World’s Largest Deserted Hotel

Who knew North Korea had the second largest hotel in the world? Too bad it’s deserted.

Ryugyong Hotel was one of Kim Jong Il‘s plans of really putting North Korea on the World Map. He thought the best way to do that would be to build the world’s largest structure. The Koreans started buillding Ryugyong in 1987 but ceased construction in 1992 due to serious financial difficulties. The country never recovered from its financial crisis so the work on Ryugyong never picked up, until 2008 when the government decided to resume work on their giant super-structure.

With North Korea‘s tourism at an absolute low, Ryugyong Hotel will probably be nothing more than a really large building, although Kim Jong Il has tried to convince the world that his huge hotel is a success by faking images and spreading them in the media.

World’s Tallest LEGO Tower Moves to Vienna

A few months ago I wrote a post about the world’s tallest tower near Legoland Windsor, in England, but now it is forced to hand over the title to the new LEGO Tower in Vienna.

Built by hundreds of children near Vienna‘s city-hall, the new world’s tallest LEGO tower ended up being 29,48 meters tall, beating the previous tower of “only” 29,03 meters. The LEGO tower in Vienna was built using a crane and several support wires that secured it against strong winds. After the record was certified by an official judge from The Guinness Book of Records, the LEGO Tower was dismantled.

The Tower of Vienna was created to celebrate the festival “100 Years of Friends of Children“.

The world’s greatest apple artworks

Helge Lundstrom is said to be the best apple artist in the world…I wonder if he’s the only one too? This man makes a different apple mosaic every year for the Apple Market Festival in Kivik, Sweden and each one is more beautiful than the other. Only problem I have is about all those wasted apples, just like the Orange Festival of Ivrea where tons of oranges go to waste, when they can all be donated to some poor country where people are dying of hunger. But, other than that, Helge Lundstrom’s apple art looks simply amazing. He uses more than 75,000 apples for each of his apple mosaics
