The Power of Make-Up

By slowly scrolling down from the first photo to the last one, you’ll realize the true power of make-up in the right hands.

This is why I never hit on women wearing too much make-up, you never know who you’re going to wake up in the morning. I’m not saying the girl in the first photo is ugly, but compared to how she looks covered with all that make up…Let’s just say there’s a chance you’ll be disappointed when you see “the real her” for the first time.

Bottom line: Make-up is powerful stuff!

Lord, this isn’t nearly as dramatic of a change with makeup as most of the people you see on TV. Calm down. Apparently, most of you have never seen how many girls look with and without makeup.

I wouldn’t hit on her either, makeup or not. In my case, though, it’s more down to the fact that she looks about eleven, and I’m really not into that sort of thing…

    2 Jessica -

Primer goes on before foundation meaning you wouldn’t have seen her apply the Chanel first unless the images are out of order. I’m guessing it’s a liquid that helps to smooth out the effects of the foundation. I use one myself except it’s a powder made by Make Up For Ever.

I apply primer first (which this girl doesn’t from the screen clips), then foundation, and then finish with the clarifying powder.

Oh and no, she’s not wearing a lot of makeup.

It looks like a bit when you see the steps broken down but in the end all you see her change is to erase some of her acne scars and redness, a little blush, and curled eyelashes with mascara (and likely eyelid tape). Obviously she’s uncomfortable with her skin so she hides that but otherwise all of her makeup is natural looking and simple, which is pretty much the goal. Dramatic makeup would be if she penciled in or changed the shape of her eyebrows, applied false eyelashes or tried to change the shape of her lips.

As for the steps, in my opinion it goes:

    1. Foundation (to even her skin tone and hide some of the acne scars)

    2. Clarifying Lotion (erases some of the obvious flaws of foundation and makes it look more natural)

    3. Concealer (her skin looks washed out before this application and she likely needs to do double duty to hide the scars)

    4. Powder (always recommended to set your makeup)

    5. Contouring in the next 2 pics (in the first a darker shade to slim the face, in the second a lighter shade to highlight the bone structure)

    6. Blush (to bring color to her face)

    7. A base shade of eyeshadow (to keep natural oils from making your eyeshadow disappear during the day)

    8. A golden shade (to compliment her skin tone)

    9. A white shade (to add depth to her lid, as an asian girl I’m guessing she feels like she needs to do extra work to her lid which is fairly common)

    10. Eyelid tape + mascara (which is what a lot of asian starlets do to achieve that not-so-asian lid)

    11. I’m guessing a luminescent finishing powder or oil absorbing powder to finish off

    12. Mascara (to make her lashes stand out)

    13. And lip color (in her natural lip shade)

Finish with hair and a pretty smile and that’s basically step for step the makeup routine any Hollywood starlet goes through before they make a tv appearance. I’ve been taught that exact breakdown of steps in essentially that order. Lol, trust me guys a lot of hot celebrities are homely girls with great makeup artists. Even the ‘natural’ looking girls are expertly painted up.

But like another poster said men don’t like all the steps but they sure as hell won’t say no to the end result. Lol, you just can’t win.
