The Power of Make-Up

LIKE DISLIKE

By slowly scrolling down from the first photo to the last one, you’ll realize the true power of make-up in the right hands.

This is why I never hit on women wearing too much make-up, you never know who you’re going to wake up in the morning. I’m not saying the girl in the first photo is ugly, but compared to how she looks covered with all that make up…Let’s just say there’s a chance you’ll be disappointed when you see “the real her” for the first time.

Bottom line: Make-up is powerful stuff!

    That makes no sense.
Nice try though at being a smart ass.

  • Lkjlkjlkj Posted on June 29, 2010

    I hurt people for money.

  • Hah1210 Posted on June 29, 2010

yeah, it’s called feeling guilty. i think that dude suffers from the very expectations that lisa strives to fulfill. but that is only what i think and i’m just a woman after all…what the hell do i know. ;p

  • Hah1210 Posted on June 29, 2010

hahahahahahahahahahaha that is some sharp sarcasm…right???? i mean, you just cannot be serious, dahling. you just cannot be, how do you get on with an attitude like that? hahaha oh boy.

  • Hah1210 Posted on June 29, 2010

Wow, faking a whole relationship? That’s just cruel to say. I thought men were so renowned for their courage but they can’t even be honest with someone “they love” or “like” or “use” more appropriately, I guess. I can’t believe you said that, I hope that for your level of nastiness there exists someone out there that is the complete opposite.

  • Hah1210 Posted on June 29, 2010

    Malice.

  • Hah1210 Posted on June 29, 2010

Don’t short change women — isn’t “smartness” relative? Was there a consensus or a study that came down and proved that men are generally smarter? Kind of irks me. You should provide some basis for “I'm not saying that women ARE smarter, but that you just can't generalise all men as being smarter than all women.”

  • Hah1210 Posted on June 29, 2010

    Love it. So realistic!

  • MoniTamValLas Posted on June 30, 2010

xP Sexist……………..Im sure theree are plenty of women who could beat you up

  • guest Posted on July 1, 2010

I could not possibly agree with you MORE Lisa!

  • Summerbunnie28 Posted on July 1, 2010

I'm really confused at this lot throwing in their 10cents. History and science I thought proved that in order for our species to continue-certain “traits” were deemed more important than others. Curves in women supposedly showed men, right or wrong, the better ability to conceive and bear children and feed them. Muscles in men, etc, showed that he would be a good provider, etc.etc. etc. So always, ALWAYS ALWAYS, appearance has been a major factor in picking a mate. That will never ever change for men and women. To think that in 2010 that that basic rule has changed is ridiculous. A person might be mature enough to realize that appearance has no bearing on a person's “inner” beauty or odds of being a good life-long companion but come on folks, we all live in a superficial society and it's hard to break out of that mind-set.
Men and women alike, 50/50, if it was swayed a lil more either way, would it make one side more wrong?
my personal gripe has always been the uncomfortableness that high heels look like for women. Is that for us men, to look just as hot as other women, or do women do it for themselves? Well, I ask women and it seems it's usually never to please us. So, come on men, I'll be the 1st to admit, women have it alot rougher then us. I can't say ALL men are shitty, but enough to make the whole look bad. Women HAVE to look a certain way to compete with men in the workforce, some men expect their wives to stay a certain weight and body type or we cheat with someone younger, tighter, bustier or just nastier in bed- hell some men do even if their wives fit said criteria. Now don't get me wrong- I have many adult female friends who tell me that they don't want a man with good credit, good parenting material- they just want a flat stomach and a man who can give them a good pounding for a long stretch of time. The point is that THERE ARE good men, and there are good women, but the flip side side is that there will always be shallow men and shallow women. If you think arguing in this post will fix people's brains, then you also need to fix music videos, advertising agencies, children's cartoons, fashion trends, everything, EVERYTHING!!! superficial beauty and the idealized human body is where it's at and where it's always going to be. Calm down.
I have one last point to make.. I was shocked not that the young lady in the series of photos got to be facially perfect- what got me is the amount of products she has to spend to look that way. And for that I've always felt sickened. When I realize how much money goes into makeup, hair salons, nails and wardrobes, WOW!! thats a big chunk of a womans yearly income. Most men can go to work in a crappy shirt and tie and do a decent job and be promoted. I do know for a fact a woman has to do alot more than that just to be considered in an interview.

  • alyssa ross<3 Posted on July 1, 2010

the bitch part was a little uncalled for but i have to agree on everything else u said, ur so very right, not all men are like that

  • Nigel Posted on July 1, 2010

Sorry but what patriarchal society are you on about, theres none in western europe. One based on male guilt, but no patriarchy. oh yeah well done to david, perhaps when females stop holding men in contempt and giving men the respect they demand from men, i may give a damn but until then, i will treat females as they treat me

Before you moan about that,it is acceptable for females to to generalise about male expectations in society (which are very real and every woman experiences) while not blaming every man personally, then if the genders are equal then men should be able to do the same without censure, as we are endure more discrimination and depriovation than females, and it truly is a shame white knights like yourself dont realise this.

  • Me Posted on July 2, 2010

Wow… You totally make yourself look really stupid when you say something like that.
And if you are going to go from that point of view then I can say this: Women are better then man because we actually work for what we want. Like having equal rights as men because for some reason allot of men think they should just be given what they want. And that's not the way it works. So stop trying to make yourself feel good by bashing on women and how inferior we are to men, because when you act like that you're the inferior.

  • trolls are teh lulz Posted on July 4, 2010

  • Just ramdom Posted on July 8, 2010

That is a HELL LOT OF MAKE UP, but WOW, tho the hair does some very effective work!

  • Ashee Posted on July 10, 2010

“This is why I never hit on women wearing too much make-up”

If you saw her in a bar or out shopping, though, you would have no idea that she’s wearing so much makeup anyways.

  • me Posted on July 13, 2010

I just can’t believe how man can be so amazed by this kind of pics. Well, ANYONE would look terrible in a photo taked from a bad angle in bad light (mainly using the flash).
The biggest difference on her face is that she covered the spots on her skin. Even without makeup, if she’d tooked a nice pic she’d look pretty. She does have a pretty face…

  • Pop pop Posted on July 13, 2010

See though…. she obviously has a good facial structure. Makeup can’t help everyone. If you have a hideous facial structure, makeup doesn’t help much. If you only have bad skin, then makeup will do the trick.

  • arisu Posted on July 16, 2010

    it is japanese man

  • TWed501 Posted on July 17, 2010

That’s what makeup is for, the ones who take the time deserve the rewards.

  • Yikes Posted on July 17, 2010

The biggest difference between the first and last pic is that she smiles in the last pic. That makes her pretty.

  • Rumana Posted on July 18, 2010

She looks really nice after makeup…

  • ysah90 Posted on July 19, 2010

well, i have to admit that there’s a difference there but hell you’re shallow guy hahaha well i am a girl and i don’t use make-up ’cause that’s too troublesome but i really admire girls that use make-up, the time they spend on making theirselves pretty and for that you are gonna say that it’s like they tricked well that’s too much anywayy .. hopefully not all the guys are like that … or are them¿¿?

  • sherullahbaig Posted on July 21, 2010

hi yas90 ilove i want frient with you i am in qater 7332834

  • chuck Posted on July 21, 2010

The model in the pictures is not a girl; “she” is a a Japanese guy.

  • Lotophage Posted on July 21, 2010

Also, and this comes from a make-up addict who doesn’t mind going out with any, smiling helps A LOT to be prettier. Seriously.

  • sandy Posted on August 3, 2010

I didn’t know men cared Mick…….. Anyway she could not have pulled that off if she wasn’t pretty to begin with.

  • KITTY Posted on August 3, 2010

    :3so hawtt XD

  • K Posted on August 5, 2010

People who are disappointed when women take off their make-up are probably in the same group as John Ruskin – a man who refused to sleep with his wife on their wedding night because he didn’t know women had pubic hair. It’s not that he simply preferred them shaved – he honestly did not believe they grew that hair and his wife, who did have that hair, was a freak.

I talk to so many men these days that seem to completely fail to grasp the concept that females are humans too and have all the attributes of the human species.

What’s absolutely ridiculous is for a man to be picky about the woman he sleeps with – we’re the only species where the females dress up for the male. Men still make more sperm than females, so stop being so goddamn picky.

  • sunny Posted on August 6, 2010

    Oh,it is magic,after make-up it is angel!!!!

  • Lindsay Posted on August 10, 2010

She’d look less like a man in makeup if she thinned her eyebrows.

  • AGirlThatNotPrettyAndKnowHowItFeels Posted on August 10, 2010

I see alot of comments where most of the men here feel disgusting after seeing her make up. I know it not the most beautiful truth on earth, but sometimes I wonder, is this not a result driven by the fact that most of the men on earth judges the book by it cover?

Be honest with yourself, if you see two girls walking on the street: looking like the first picture, and girl looking like the last picture, which one will you go up and say hi?

Just ask youself this and then maybe you will understand the reason why woman waste so much time and money on make ups.

We as woman all know make up could not replace the real ‘us’. But it feels good to know, that at least once in our life, we can be pretty for a few hours, and receive a different treatment from men.

  • Blackgnite Posted on August 12, 2010

She needs to smile , and let her hair down in the first pic so we can get an accurate comparative.

A smile can add a tremendous amount of beauty.

  • Som Posted on August 12, 2010

    Beauty is only skin deep

  • Harsiese Posted on August 17, 2010

I have to comment as a model, makeup artist, woman and person who 90% of my closest and dearest friends are men. Makeup makes a HUGE difference. Hands down. Between makeup, contacts and hair extensions for shoots, I look like a completely different person. To a point where I once had a girl talk to me about my shots and never realized she was talking about me to me because I had no makeup. Point is, it does a shit ton.

We as women compete against a constant onslaught telling us that if we dont look like a porcelain doll, we will never be considered. I often note how different the reactions of the men are when I go places like the super market when I have makeup on and when I dont. I fly completely under the radar if I dont put on a full face. Its very distorting to a sense of self image. I often contemplate cutting the amount of makeup to sheers and letting the purple hallows and rings show through and be what lets be, but I know id never be noticed.

Its a no win situation for women, either cut back and never get noticed, or doll up and pray that by the time it all comes off the guy is so into you it wont matter. My male friends are GOOD men, and I often hear comments of how one girls breasts fell weird during sex or how another looks sick without makeup, or their nice butt was only because of the $100 jeans they wore. Even good, loving, men notice those things, the only difference is they wont dump a girl over it.

All this is ironic since by and by the vast majority of males outright refuse and get insulted if you tell them to hit the gym an hour a day and do something about the chest sweater, and accuse the woman of being shallow. Which I find ironic since any “hot girl” 90% the time hits the gym regularly on top of makeup, hair, salons clothes ect ect constitute way more then 60 min a day . lol

Point is, ease up on judging a girl for loading on the makeup, and consider that it takes allot of courage for them to even take it off and let down that wall for you. Recognize the very real fact that until you know her and really like who she is as a person, your first judgment is only on her looks (same with her for you). Ladies, despite the onslaught telling you otherwise, believe men when they say your beautiful without makeup, make effort to feel pretty with a little powder and mascara for your boyfriend and trust he thinks your stunning, insecurity drives men away more then any amount of makeup. Thats the one resounding thing that Ive seen drive good men away from who they are dating.

  • pg1192 Posted on August 22, 2010

If you look at the pictures while scrolling up, it looks like a hot girl puts on makeup and gets worse looking.

  • didi Posted on August 23, 2010

  • kurt Posted on August 25, 2010

if u put make up-on,on girls ugly face, she still ugly, but if u put make up-on,on gills pretty face she will look more prettier…that japanese girl is beautiful, its just that, she doesnt have a good skin.. :D

  • marton Posted on August 31, 2010

can we have a list of the products,

    please??

(this could be the best product advert in the world, by the way)

  • Nancie Posted on September 5, 2010

Everyone could look good putting on make-up, wearing the right clothes, eating well, and exercise for the overweight. Must be why I see more attractive females than males since more pressure is on women to look good. A lot of beauty products and many varieties of apparel are aimed towards women. But one thing I know for sure, confidence is a very big factor in appearance. And I agree, there’s something about a nice smile that is beautiful on everyone.
Harsiese, I nod in agreement with you. Ignorant men need to know why women do these.
