Amazons don’t just live through legends and myths, they live in the real world.

French explorer Guillaume Herbaut stumbled upon a group of young amazons deep in the Ukrainean forest. They dress in traditional outfits of their people, study martial arts and live together, away from men, just like the ancient female warriors used to do.

The idol of these modern amazons is the Ukrainean prime-minister Iulia Timoshenko.

Just what we guys needed, another group of women who could kick our asses.

55 Mexican cooks worked hard to create the world’s largest cheesecake.

The giant cheesake was presented to the world on january 25, in Mexico City. It took the 55 cooks 60 hours to make, using almost a whole ton of cream cheese, nearly a ton of yogurt, 350 kg of pastry, 250 kg of sugar and 50 kg of butter. The final result was a 2 ton calorie bomb.

This was the first cheesecake record aknowledged by the Guinness Book of Records, so there wasn’t any competition. The  world’s largest cheesecake was sliced into pieces and given to over 20,000 people throughout Mexico City.

Some people love anime heroes that much.

We all know how popular anime are worldwide, but especially in the coutry that invented them, Japan. Known as Itasha, the art of covering the body of a car with fictional anime characters, is very popular in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Gatherings to show off the coolest Itasha cars are held regularly, and the latest was organized in Nagara town, just north of Tokyo. Called “Winter 2009 Itasha Collection“, it was held on January 25 and brought together over 150 cool cars. A 20 million-yen Itasha car was reportedly also presented there.

T-34, known as robocop, was developed by two Japanese tech firms, Tmsuk Co. and Alacom Co.

This smaller version of the popular 90s robotic super-hero travels with a speed of up to 10km/h and can be controlled by someone who sees real-time images through a cell-phone. The small robot is equipped with motion sensors that detect movement, and can hurl a net to trap the intruders.

The T-34 robocop is an improves on the common security sensors that often trigger false alarms. With the use of the built-in camera, anyone can examine the location from anywhere, via there mobile phones.

For the first time ever, a polar bear has been spotted floating on a small iceberg, in London.

It’s not ever day you see a polar bear floating on the river Thames, let alone one that is 100% recyclable. To celebrate the opening of Eden, a new natural history television channel, a sculpture of a stranded polar bear and his cub was comissioned and set afloat in Greenwich, southeast London.

The whole point of Eden‘s 16-foot-sculpture was to attract attention on a burning environemental issue, the melting of the polar bear‘s habitat. If extreme measures are not taken, the largest land predator on Earth could become extinct.

The recyclable polar bear was launched on the Thames on January 26, at 6:30 in the morning, and traveled for 7.5 miles before stopping beside Tower Bridge for a photo shoot.

It appears gold-plating your car is the latest fashion in rich Arab countries.

Take this gorgeous Mercedes AMG, one of the most beautiful cars on the market today. Its owner wanted to take his “common” car and turn it into so mething that would really turn heads. So what do you do when you have too much money to count, and want to make something shiny shine even more? You gold-plate it of course.

Obama-mania obviously hit Japan as well, as they rush to buy the best Obama action-figure ever.

Barack Obama is already a hero not only for Americans, but also for the Japanese. The Obama action-figure can be found on the shelves of many japanese toy-stores, together with patriotic accessories, like the American flag and changeable palms, to better express himself.

Obama-san also has some damn cool weapons to fight terrorism, political opponents and maybe even the economic crysis.  The new American president comes equipped with a katana (Japanese sword) and wakizashi (long knife), a gun and a rifle, but also with a very cool light-saber, to help him fight his nemesis, Darth Vader(?!?).

More like a beach full of timber but there are some planks in the sea as well.

Two weekends ago, the Sussex shoreline was covered by nothing but wet timber from the sunken Greek vessel, Ice Prince. The ship sunk  26 milles off Portland Bill, but most of the 2,000 tons of timber it was carrying was washed on Sussex coast-line.

Authorities warned locals not to remove any of the planks from the beaches, as they risked a fine of up to 2,500 pounds. Despite the warning many British came with whatever vehicles they had, to load-up some waterlogged wooden planks. One thief was caught as he was loading his hatchback Mazda.

It’s not your average bull-bar but it works.

What do people do when they don’t have enough money to install a normal bull-bar on their SUVs? Well in Russia they just get a log and attach it to the front of the vehicle with some iron bolts. It doesn’t look as good as a normal bull-bar, but it’s a lot cheaper and it gets the job done.

It’s exactly what it sounds like, a bike and a backpack at the same time.

I know it looks like an ordinary closet from the outside, and that’s the idea, but inside lies a powerful command center from where a computer geek does great things like…playing World of Warcraft, hacking people’s computers and other fun activities.

This has to be one of the best computer hideouts I’ve ever seen. Not recommended for claustrophobics though.

And I do mean long eye-lashes.

Fashion has been getting weirder and weirder for quite a while now, so sooner or later something like this had to happen. People are getting bored of hair-extensions and they’re getting their eye-lashes extended. It seems sight isn’t an issue when you’re trying to be a true fashionista.

Didn’t know Russia builds super-cars? That’s alright, they didn’t, until now.

Marussia is the invention of Russian GT driver Nikolai Fomenko and it has become the first Grand Turismo car built in Russia. That’s not the most important thing about Marussia, since most of the parts come from abroad, but the fact that you can change its body as easy as replacing a mobile phone’s facet.

The steel frame that holds the 3,5 litre engine and all the other important parts is the core of the Marussia, while the ultra-light plastic body can be easily changed by the owner.

Marussia is a true GT racer, producing 300 horse-power and accelerating from 0 to 100 km. per hour in just 4.2 seconds.

This fluffy hamburger is actually a cheeseburger (notice the cheesy matress). It has all the right ingredients, including, pickles, letuce and sliced tomatoes, all it needs is a little ketchup.
