Angry Patron Sets Fire to Café Because They Had Run Out of Mayonnaise

An angry café patron in Los Palacios y Villafranca, Spain, was recently arrested for allegedly setting fire to the eatery because the staff told him they had run out of mayonnaise.

Last Wednesday, the staff and customers of a café in the municipality of Los Palacios y Villafranca, Seville, got the fright of their lives when a man sprayed petrol on the bar and set it on fire. The man, whose identity has not been revealed, went to the restaurant with his son and ordered two sandwiches. Surveillance cameras show him getting up from his table and talking to one of the waiters. The 50-something patron reportedly asked for mayonnaise for his sandwich, but was told that they didn’t have any. He then asked another waiter and was told the same thing, so he just stormed out of the café, walked to a nearby gas station, and came back with a bottle of petrol.

Male-Born German Extremist Officially Changes Gender to Serve Time in Women’s Prison

Taking advantage of Germany’s  “gender self-determination” reforms, a male right-wing extremist officially changed his gender to female and will serve time in a women’s prison.

In July of 2023, Marla-Svenja Liebich was sentenced by the Halle District Court in Germany’s Saxon-Anhalt state to a year and six months without parole for incitement to hatred, defamation, and insult. Interestingly, at that time, she was known as Sven Liebich and identified as a man. He appealed the original sentence and lost, but that was only the beginning of a very bizarre situation. At the end of 2024, Liebich, allegedly a member of a far-right extremist group called Blood and Honour, took advantage of Germany’s new Self-Determination Act to legally change his name to Marla-Svenja Liebich and his gender to female.

Couple Going on Vacation Abandon Son with Expired Passport at Airport

An employee at Barcelona’s El Prat Airport recently recounted the “totally surreal” story of a couple who left their 10-year-old son at the terminal after discovering that his passport had expired.

Lilian Limasin, an air traffic controller at the El Prat Airport in Barcelona, recently took to TikTok to share an incredible story that took place at her workplace last month. Her day had started normally, but while handling the departure of a plane headed for Casablanca, Morocco, at 8:30 am, Limasin received an emergency message to ground the aircraft until further notice. Minutes earlier, Catalan police had found a small child wandering alone in the terminal, who told them that his parents had left without him. An emergency call was first made within the airport asking for the parents to come forward, but no one did, so the airport staff asked the child for information about his parents and realized that they were already on board the plane to Casablanca. That’s when the Spanish Civil Guard requested that the plane’s departure be stopped to resolve the matter.

The World’s Cheapest Computer Case Only Costs the Delivery Fee

Swedish consumer electronics company Teenage Engineering recently launched the world’s cheapest PC case, which only costs the fee to have it delivered to the customer.

The Computer-2 isn’t the world’s most innovative, durable or attractive-looking case, but it is by far the cheapest! You basically get it for free, as long as you cover the delivery fee. Made of translucent polypropylene plastic, the case features a hinged and snap-on design for tool-free assembly and supports a mini-ITX motherboard, an SFX power supply, a low-profile CPU cooler, an 80mm fan, and dual-slot graphics cards up to 180mm long. Plastic provides limited durability, but it also lowers the risk of short-circuits considerably, which, coupled with the unbeatable price, has got a lot of people interested in the Computer-2.

Owner of Famous Chinese ‘Nail House’ Finally Moves Out Because of Traffic Noise

The Eye of Jinxi, the most famous nail house in China’s Jianxi Province, was recently abandoned by its owner, who couldn’t stand the noise of the cars passing by his home 24/7.

The Eye of Jinxi made news headlines in China in April, when a highway built around it was inaugurated. Like other nail house owners across the Asian country, Huang Ping (pseudonym) refused the regional government’s offer to buy his property and decided to stick to his guns even when everyone else in the area moved out. At one point, Huang got a large enough compensation package of approximately 1.6 million yuan ($223,000), but didn’t agree to the condition that the price be paid in two installments. He would live to regret his decision, because the government decided to simply build the road around his property, turning it into an isolated nail house.

Silent Man Has Been Blocking Traffic in UK Town for Over a Decade and No One Knows Why

David Hampson is one of the UK’s greatest unsolved mysteries. For over a decade, he has been silently blocking the same intersection in the city of Swansea, for reasons no one can uncover.

We first wrote about David Hampson four years ago, when he made news headlines in his home country of England for his bizarre habit of standing in the middle of a Swansea intersection, blocking traffic until police finally came and arrested him. He never talked to anyone, including the police, and preferred to spend months in jail rather than provide an explanation for his bizarre habit. Then, when he got released, he was right back to his old shenanigans. A lot has changed over the last four years, but David Hampson’s traffic-blocking habit wasn’t one of them. He is still at it, over a decade since his first arrest, back in 2014.

South Korea Deploys Life-Size Holographic Police Officers to Prevent Crimes

Seoul Police has been testing life-size holographic police officers as a way to increase people’s perception of safety and discourage crime in South Korea’s capital.

Every evening, between 7 pm and 10 pm, a uniformed policeman measuring over 170 cm tall appears in Judong No. 3 Park, a busy area in Jung-gu, Seoul, reminding residents that “in emergencies, the police will respond immediately,” and that “there are surveillance cameras everywhere.” But this is no ordinary police officer, but a 3D hologram designed to provide psychological stability to citizens and prevent disorderly behavior. Created by Hologrammica, a tech company specializing in holographic content, the life-size policeman model was installed in October of last year, on a trial basis, and recent data shows that it has had a significant impact on crime reduction in Judong No. 3 Park.

Man with Sore Nipple Shocked to Learn He Had Knife Blade in His Chest for 8 Years

A Tanzanian man who came to the hospital complaining of pain and pus discharge from his right nipple was shocked to learn that he had been living with a large knife blade lodged in his chest for eight years.

Doctors at the Muhimbili National Hospital in Tanzania recently published a most unusual case study in the scientific journal National Library of Medicine. They wrote about a 44-year-old generally healthy man who came to the hospital with a 10-day-long history of white pus discharge from his right nipple. He denied any chest pain, difficulty breathing, cough, or fever, but asked if he had anything notable to tell doctors, he recalled a violent altercation eight years prior, during which he had sustained several cuts to his face, back, chest, and abdomen. Doctors had managed to suture the wounds back then, and he had lived a mostly uneventful life ever since, up until his nipple started oozing pus. Unable to determine the cause of the infection, doctors ordered an X-ray exam and were shocked to see a giant knife blade lodged in the man’s chest.
