Whispered into existence by

The Mianhua Library, located near the village of Mianhua, in China’s Guanxi Province, is a unique library housed in a large grotto, on the side of a rock cliff.

Ever since it opened in May of this year, Mianhua Library has been going viral on Chinese social media. Libraries aren’t usually very popular online, but this isn’t your regular library; it’s an incredible attraction not only for book lovers but also for travelers in search of stunning vistas. Nestled on the edge of a towering cliff, surrounded by lush greenery, Mianhua Library looks like something created with artificial intelligence, but it’s actually a real place that anyone can visit as long as they can make the trek there.

The exterior of the library makes quite a first impression with its rock-hanging wooden walkways and balconies, but it’s the inside that really takes your breath away. Mianhua Library is located inside a large grotto with thousands of books lining its irregular walls.

The library is situated in a rural area, but although it provides access to books for the local community, it is more of a tourist attraction that has already drawn in visitors from all over the country.
