Young Woman Goes Blind in One Eye After Getting Her Eyeballs Dyed Black

A 25-year-old woman from Poland has been left completely blind in her right eye and with eyesight complications in the left one after having her eyeballs dyed black by a tattoo artist in order to make herself stand out.

Aleksandra Sadowska’s tragic story began four years ago, when the young girl from Wroclaw, in western Poland, decided to get her eyeballs dyed black. She searched online for someone who could do the procedure, and found a willing tattoo artist from Warsaw. Although the tattoo artist, referred to by Polish press as Piotr A., appeared to know what he was doing, he allegedly didn’t know his craft very well, which led to a botched dying procedure. Aleksandra started complaining of severe pain in her eyes shortly after the procedure, but the tattoo artist allegedly told her that it was normal and recommended that she use painkillers to cope. Unfortunately, her situation was much more serious…

Mysterious Smell Has Been Plaguing Whole County for Months, And No One Knows Where It’s Coming From

Ever since late last year, people in various parts of Delaware County, Pennsylvania, have been reporting a foul, sulfur-like smell that comes and goes, seemingly at random. So far no one has been able to pinpoint its source or its nature.

It all started in October of 2019, when a strong odor was reported nearby Aston, Pennsylvania. In November, people in Ridley Township alerted authorities about that same smell on Veterans Day. Then in December several 911 calls were made from Brookhaven about a strong smell in the air that some likened to that of petroleum or sulfur. Several townships reported the mysterious odor in January as well, and earlier this week it made its presence felt in Glenolden as well. Experts are still struggling to find out what’s causing the smell, but they are having a tough time figuring out how it can travel around the 200-square-mile Delaware County, and how it disappears as suddenly as it arrives.

Malaysian Couple Stun Wedding Guests with Splendid Chandelier Wedding Cake

Most of the guests at Malaysian actors Zahirah Macwilson and Aiman Hakim Redza’s wedding last Thursday were probably expecting something special, but none of them could predict an upside down wedding cake dropping from the ceiling.

I’m not sure how happy Zahirah and Aiman are about being upstaged by a cake at their own wedding, but that’s exactly what has happened ever since their big event, last Thursday. All everyone seems to talk about both on social media and on entertainment news sites is the gorgeous chandelier cake that was lowered down on a small stage for the couple to jointly slice. To be honest, it was quite an attention grabber, definitely one of the most impressive wedding cakes we’ve ever featured on OC.

This Japanese Smartphone Won’t Let You Take Inappropriate Photos

Japanese company Tone Mobile has been getting a lot of attention ever since it launched its Tone e20 model, the world’s first smartphone that prevents users from taking “inappropriate” (nude) photos.

The Tone e20 is not a particularly attractive phone, and its spec sheet isn’t exactly impressive either, but it does one thing that no other phone in the word does – it uses artificial intelligence to prevent users from taking nude photos of themselves or anyone else. Aimed primarily at parents who want to ‘protect children from predators’, the phone can also ‘connect’ with other devices and notify their owner if the connected phone has clicked an inappropriate photo.

How the World’s Largest Signature Is Used by NASA to Analyze Satellite Imagery

In the late 1990’s, when a Texas farmer decided to clear up some new grazing land for his cattle by leaving up just enough trees to spell his name in giant letters, he probably never imagined that his signature would one day be used by NASA to evaluate the quality of their satellite cameras.

Jimmie Luecke was a young Texas state trooper who left the highway patrol in 1980 to try his luck in the oil business. He was lucky enough to do so during the chalk oil boom, became a millionaire, and invested most of his profits in land outside the town of Smithville. He started raising cattle on it, and by the late 1990’s his heard had gotten so large that he needed to clear up some more of his land of trees for grazing. Only he didn’t just settle for bulldozing all the trees, he decided to write his name in the process, thus creating the world’s largest signature.

Between 2002 and 2014, disruptions of train operation caused by turtles were reported 13 times, with many more probably going unreported. That is why, in 2015, West Japan Railway Co. and Suma Aqualife Park in Kobe joint forces to prevent tragic turtle deaths on the tracks and unnecessary train delay. After running a series of tests and experiments, they came up with a U-shaped ditch that collects the turtles, preventing them from getting stuck between the metal tracks and getting squashed to death.

Japan’s “Poop Soil Master” Shunned Indoor Pooping 45 Years Ago

A 70-year-old Japanese man who describes himself as a professional “fundoshi”, or “poop soil master” has been moving bowels outdoors for almost half a centuries, and encouraging others to follow his example.

Masana Izawa, a published mushroom and moss photographer, is famous for avoiding indoor toilets as much as he can. In fact, he prides himself with the fact that he has only pooped indoor 14 times in the last 20 years, and then only because he had no other choice. Whether he is at his home in Japan’s Ibaraki Prefecture, in an urban environment or in the middle of nature, Izawa always does his number two outdoors. He believes that relieving ourselves in the soil rather than in dead plumbing is our responsibility as humans, and he has taken it upon himself to convince people that their poop isn’t worthless at all.

Man Uses Rodents to Scam Hotels Into Letting Him Skip the Bill

A Utah man is facing criminal charges after admitting to releasing rodents in at least three different hotels in order to then complain about the pesky critters, and get compensated with a free room.

According to police, Ryan Sentelle State, 37, would check into hotels and sneak rodents like mice and hamsters as well. Once in the room, he would release the rodents and then call staff and complain about the terrible hygiene. He would point out the droppings and in some cases the rodents themselves, and ask to be exempt from paying for the accommodation. He obviously got away with this tactic a few times, as he is accused of scamming at least three hotels, although authorities believe he has scammed several more hotels in the area.
