While other little girls were watching cartoons, or playing with Barbie dolls, Cecilia Cassini was reading fashion magazines and learning how to sew. Now, at 10 years of age, she’s already an established fashion designer for kids.
Cecilia Cassini, from Encino, California, began her career as fashion designer, when she was just 5 years old. She cut up her sister’s Betsy Johnson dress, when no one was looking, and adjusted it to her own design. For her 6th birthday, she received a sewing machine and began taking sewing lessons. At 7 years old, she wrote a letter to her favorite fashion designer, Coco Channel, for school, and designed her own logo, at 8.
It’s safe to say Cecilia was very creative, from an early age, but she got her big break last year, when her mother mentioned to a store owner that her daughter made dresses. During a trunk show, the fifth-grader sold 50 pieces. Things started happening, from there, and now Miss Cassini has her own manager, no other than Pilar DeMann, the woman behind the Kardashians’ rise to power.
Cecilia Cassini and her fashion creations are becoming more and more popular, with each passing day, and she’s even opened up a cool-looking website, where people can check out and order her works. Another super-kid that’s going places, fast.

I think Cecilia is a really good fashion designer especially for her age by the way am 10 and my dream is to become a fashion designer to just like Cecilia and I am very good at drawing really nice clothes and I make up my own designs too.

I’m sorry, but her designs are just the product of parents with a lot of money and a little girl to spoil. I don’t think her designs have any originality to them, people confuse originality with a desperate need to be different there for creating horrible random pieces that have no real inspiration or design concepts or real talent or complicated processes.
ANYONE, can throw scrunched up gathered pieces of fabric and bows on a simple silhouetted garment with random colours, which sure appeal to younger ages because they like things that look like toys the can grab and in reality look silly. It reminds me of a dress and someone throwing random fabric manipulation bits on to them. It has no talent. It’s like playing dress ups and to me the clothes look cheap.
Even if she is using recycles clothes it doesn’t limit the overall out look of the dress, if she was a good designer she would be able to fix anything and really make it a piece of art, people forget that designing is much like problem solving in a way.
If she wants to be a fashion designer as she is, fine. But she is given to much credit then she deserves, and in my opinion cheapens the concept of fashion and fashion designers.
Where are the influences? the real unique the designs that include the essence of the designer, which is innovative and new in a way thats never been seen, but can achieve this in a way with still looking aesthetically appealing?
I am 17 and my whole life I have always wanted to be a Fashion Designer, there was no turning point, It was always in me.

the only reason she is a designer is only because she knows how to sew. Her designs are f*****g garbage. all she does is takes random fabrics and puts them together. she once said the person who originally tought her to sew was “rude” because she would tell the little brat that some fabrics she was using don’t match. Im 13 next year and i’ve studied fashion threw magasins such as vouge and elle, i’ve bought a proffesional ” Hockey Croquis” Flat sketche pad i’ve nearlly filled it already! I bought it on january 2nd. At the same time, i’ve also been drawing designs in a clear sketch pad with out a croquis, i’ve finished one book already and i have started another one to.
In my second sketche pad i’ve drawn designed ranged for many different people.
Its my dream to become a fashion designer.Sewing is becoming new to me.

Personally, I don’t think her designs are very good. She is too young to have a career now, and I think she should really stay in school, get a good education, and become a better designer in college. She really does need to improve, anyone with an educated view of true fashion can see that. Oh, and for those calling people that say she is a brat brats themselves need to learn that other people have opinions, and expressing said opinions does not make them brats.

Well i have to admit, she has become quite famous.The only reason is because her parents are rich and and have all the contacts for Cecilia.Which is quite unfair because there are people who have better designs and are not as fortunate as her.
